This is a huge embarrassment to my district. Only 5 years ago activists and council took the bold step to build our first navigation center by city hall as the first steps for a compassionate city. Now they spend their energy going backwards, criminalizing homelessness
Not only is Fremont CA voting on an ordinace that makes it illegal to be homeless, the proposed law also targets volunteers with misdemeanors + jail time if they "aid and abet" anyone who is homeless. They're literally trying to jail anyone who helps those with no place to live.

Right now, I’m genuinely embarrassed to be an American. Can you even imagine the outrage from MAGA if Joe Biden had said he was going to “take over Gaza” and “own it”? They’d be calling him cognitively impaired, saying he’s lost his mind, and screaming about imperialism. But when Trump says it? Silence. Hypocrisy at its finest.
