There should be some kind of sociological study exploring how Ireland and the Irish became such vile antisemites. This is a cancer. Literally why?.
“I cried with my team.” Ireland 🇮🇪 Eurovision finalist Bambie Thug is asked how they felt when Israel qualified for the #EUROVISION final.

Most people don’t understand that we’ve essentially made infrastructure projects illegal. Any proposal to build new rail, bridges, dams, or ports and canals has to go through the same multi-year, multi-billion dollar review process as a new coal plant. Actually even more so.
The Golden Gate Bridge was build in 4 years. The Hoover dam was built in 4 years. The Empire State Building was built in a little over a year. Amazing things can happen when we put ourselves together and just do it.

It cost 3 kWh to run a load of laundry in the 1980s, and just 0.5 kWh now. That would be 3 kg of carbon then, and only 0.2 kg today. Washing machines have become 15x more efficient, with no signs of stopping, and these people think *now* is the time to go back to washboards.

@waitbutwhy The pardon power is discussed in Federalist No. 74. Hamilton argued that the Presidential pardon was necessary for several reasons (mercy, etc) but specifically for insurrections and rebellions, to allow the President to restore peace and prevent prolonged conflict.

@nicholascarrigg @BakeEurope Show her these classic AC vents, replacing the standard one on the floor with this would go great with her aesthetic:

A guy who also callously mocked a photo of an Israeli home after October 7, children’s toys and books covered in blood, as “fake” and “staged” like some prank. This call for “unity” isn’t just insincere, it’s horrific, evil gaslighting from a truly depraved individual.
Inspiring words from the guy who told me and my fiancé to die of AIDS because we took a photo with a statue of Ronald Reagan

@clarksonlawson_ Straight guys actually can’t tell. Like I watch this and immediately see what squirrel dad is doing in these videos. But I think straight guys just see “dude with squirrel.”.

@spicyliltoaster I’m gay and I don’t think you should have to justify yourself to anyone. No one has a right to be with you, or with anyone. No means no. Shame on anyone who pressures you over this. Insane.

I’ve come to the realization that 200 years from now, when people use “space age” as an adjective, they won’t be talking about the 1960’s. They’ll be talking about us.

@EmiliaSykesstan What about this is surprising to you? You weaponized their tragedy to advance policies they hate.

One of my favorite things about this website is having only 30 minutes to an hour’s notice of whatever discourse is dominating at a given moment. Otherwise it’s totally inscrutable. This post is illegible unless you were online two hours ago. Truly the global town square.

What Americans call “originalism” and “textualism,” many other countries call “law.”.
A strange feature of progressive US expats I’ve encountered is Americans in Australia who are horrified by the US Supreme Court and relieved to have left the US, but who don’t seem aware that the recent SCOTUS culture-war decisions they hate entirely align with Australian law.

@DogRightGirl What’s wrong with paying for better if you can afford better? Do you think everyone should be forced to use the same low quality government healthcare even if they can afford their own? What about schools?.

@MrAndyNgo I love how we’ve gone from “child from Wales” to Al Qaeda-affiliated terrorist with chemical weapons in his house. The media’s refusal to acknowledge this has nothing to do with protecting the rights of the accused. This is about distorting reality for political reasons.

@MarioNawfal That’s not Mars, that’s the Moon. Specifically, this is a 100 meter skylight in a lunar lava tube in the Mare Tranquillitatis region, photographed by cameras onboard NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, operated by Arizona State University.

@ChrisFourOhFour It’s illegal now. We required to do it 100x harder now, and for no increase in safety or efficiency.

I’ve personally experienced this as a gay guy. Left wing backlash against minorities is absolutely a thing. Vote GOP and a certain segment of these people just come unglued and throw every insult in the book at you. Not generic ones. Specifically about your identity.
"I know a lot of Latino men that wish they were White. A lot of your fathers. A lot of your uncles. A lot of your grandfathers. God they wanna be White so bad but they never will be. I hate that sh*t. I hate Latino men that oppress the women in their family, their own daughters"

Most of these things are arguably true, as in, an honest person could argue for them. Calling them “lies” when they’re actually just arguments they disagree with cheapens the meaning of the term and hurts their credibility.

This is actually astonishing. The first privately developed supersonic airplane in human history, and not a peep from most of the media establishment. Potentially the biggest disruption in aviation in decades and just crickets from journalists who can’t grasp the significance.
We offered pre brief interviews to both WSJ and NYT and invited both to come watch the flight. WSJ said supersonic isn't newsworthy until the full-scale Overture is carrying passengers. FT did a really nice job going deep.

Literally just make water. Desalinate seawater. Seed the clouds. There are trillions of gallons of water available for us to terraform the desert. Reject scarcity and unleash abundance.
In order to solve the western water crisis, it may be necessary to stop growing livestock feed crops in the desert. That would basically solve it overnight.
