One of my greatest career regrets was being afraid of hard problems.
When I was at meta a hiring manager offered me the opportunity to join the global traffic routing team (covering meta, oculus, instagram, etc)

I worked on a sourcing/due diligence platform. Highest accuracy is to pick a vertical you're interested in and correlate startups in that space with external positive metrics. i.e. look for startups whose apps just broke into top 100 app store subcategories

I believe the pace of ai is going to slow down - we had a big bang as we consumed most of the internet but the data has mostly been exhausted.
7/ On data, it's a bit more complicated.
We've exhausted most of the internet as pre-training data, and as previously mentioned, the gains are coming from post-training.
The next 4 years will need us to overcome data scarcity and build data abundance.

1. The algo worked (but rare signal)
2. Relevancy & timing matters: when people are looking for jobs, they check their most recent inbound
One of our Mailscale customers books 60 calls a month.
I asked him if he personalizes his cold emails. Here's what he said:

Just a simpol OpenAI wrapper but their target audience is people with a rare medical condition. Founder has a severe version of the condition. The product is so hacky sometimes the loading screen gets completely
