@sahilypatel @BessemerVP I was in a pitch meeting with the GP. Halfway through the GP walks out. I get asked if I want to invest, so I ask the GP why he passed. “When was the last time a dancing app for chinese people ever went global?”

@davidnix_ I agree. 0-> 1 product is a different skill than infra scaling. You need to take advantage of your unfair advantage. Imo bring reliable resilience to the masses. is a great example. The problems it solves are not novel, but made it 10x easier to use.

Same vibe: > In 1980, AT&T commissioned McKinsey & Company to predict cell phone usage in the United States by 2000. The consulting group argued that cellular telephony would be a niche market. They forecasted 900,000 subscribers - less than 1% of reality.

Goldman Sachs issues a report about generative AI; currently too expensive to justify ROI, no killer app and looming poser & chip shortages. That said they see money to be made if a killer app is found and also simply because bubbles take a long time to burst.

7/ On data, it's a bit more complicated. We've exhausted most of the internet as pre-training data, and as previously mentioned, the gains are coming from post-training. The next 4 years will need us to overcome data scarcity and build data abundance.
