I agree with you Dr! Traveling around the world is not a measure of success. The most important aspect should be how his travels have helped to improve the livelihood of Kenyans. Academic success remains important.

Remain consistent.Hamas has to be defeated and the Palestinians must come to terms with that. The Israelis have to also come to terms with the fact that Netanyahu has to resign after the war to pave way for a new leader that will unite Israel and push for a 2 state solution.

As an old boy of SMACK, am disappointed by this development. Even if one could argue that the school should have respected the privacy of family, he should have taken the high road and worked on his grievances through SMACKOBA. It’s a well respected FORUM at the school.
@UG_confesses
The fact is as a man he needs to do the best he can to provide. There is no excuse for that. You may have to think about giving him an ultimatum to either step up or you leave. 500K can’t do alot when raising a child with the standard of living we currently have.
@AfricaFactsZone
Simple! Let the Arab states in the North join their friends in the Middle East Block since our values as blacks don’t meet their standards. I have never seen their relevance in the African Union block.
@AfricaFactsZone
This is really bad and embarrassing further showing our backwardness. SA & Algeria (which is an Arab state) don’t speak for the whole of Africa when it comes to Israel. The challenges in the Middle East are bigger than Israel itself. We Africans have no say in choosing sides.

As a doctor I would like to implore to learn more about the false negative test dilemma in our practice. They aren’t fake COVID results. The best PCR can fail to pickup a positive test if a person’s viral load is very low usually within 2 days. Truck drivers from Kenya last year,

Tested negative in Mombasa and positive at Malaba. MOH Ug didn’t claim false tests from Kenya. Secondly UK knows this false negative dilemma and can’t impose a ban based on that. They aren’t that stupid.They made it based on our current wave of variants & increase in infections.
@Mutesimarion_
There is a false analogy that an elected MP is directly responsible for service delivery. This is where Ug politics has reached. If an MP is responsible for health, roadsetc in the constituency, where would he/she get that money if they aren’t looting. They should just legislate.

If he is shutting down USAID then he has surely run mad. We can’t do without that fund in the health sector. Even with the poor state of infrastructure, the USAID provides the little there and subsidizes products like ARVs. We will have to be taxed to oblivion to compensate.
@PressSec
I think it was unfair for the GOP to blame Biden for a crisis that was even there during their time. They had the opportunity under the Obama administration to pass a bipartisan bill on immigration.
@RobCyubahiro
HE Felix Tshisekedi may be overthrown from power. When he says it’s time to free Rwandans from Kagame and his government, that’s navigating on uncharted waters. Monsieur Museveni has always chosen his words carefully when dealing with a Rwandan fallout. He should pick a leaf !
@NabaasaInnocent
It’s the key reason he is not fit to lead this country. A true opposition figure is one that is offering alternatives to polices of govt day in day out. The only thing that comes out of this is a bad image that impacts our tourism, and opportunities for those in that sector.
@Martin19822018

Seriously, are you sure removing that dictator was the best solution to Libya’s problems? The country is far worse off than when the EU intervened in the country to promote its so called human rights agenda. Obama publicly said Libya intervention was an error in judgement.

And not only did the 43 acquit trump, their minority leader had the guts to condemn the insurrection ‘in the strongest terms ‘and point the finger at Trump even after also voting to acquit him. One can sympathize with Nancy Pelosi for going ballistic yesterday. It looked bad.

Bse he didn’t know what to expect from you, or if you would even understand the gravity of the situation, which to me is natural for some people. He should have chosen to confine in some other people who have known him longer and understand him. But I don’t think it’s offensive.

The lesson learnt here is that the West particularly the United States doesn’t have no friends but interests. Africa needs to learn the importance of continental cooperation to address the challenges that affect us. Relying on the West shouldn’t be a big priority today

I wonder when those Ugandans will ever understand that the US has interests & not friends. Human rights are valued by them when it’s in their interests. M7 is smart even to play both Russia, China & US for his benefit. The grim reality is you may have to pick a leaf from him.

It’s a shame. That was the wrong avenue to raise grievances. As a nation, such events should be avenues for unity for Uganda. He served his country with dignity,he wasn’t perfect, he was just human. Am however happy with some members of FDC,NUP and DP who have expressed support.
@ProfPLOLumumba
Great idea but remember nationalistic interests will override the progress of the EAC airline. The economy of Rwanda depends heavily on their airline. If you merge them, it’s likely that their revenues willl drop. Secondly, who will host the HQs of this airline, Rwanda or Kenya?
@MukonoGamu
Really, as someone to hate. Nganda had the right to disagree with Tumwine on anything as an opposition leader. I am also assuming he is a professional. When you say you have no kind words for Tumwine, it will obviously be misunderstood. Simply reserve your comments. He’s dead.

I think the problem is not Museveni running at 76 but not having term limits. Biden is expected to serve for 2 terms each for 4 years if he is re-elected. By 2028 he is expected to be out. (This is a fact). On our side we even don’t know when Museveni will choose to go.
@adoniaayebare
I have done Model UN simulations for years but I still wonder why a country should be allowed to abstain in any vote. I think by abstaining you are failing to make a decision on important issues. What happens when the issue is concerning Uganda and we also need votes.

Never say men or women are scam! You are just with the wrong person full stop. Whenever a person of a certain gender disappoints you, you don’t blame the entire gender. It’s bound to happen, take responsibility and move on. You will meet someone better.

Starting your own house is better. You can get an opportunity to appreciate the challenges of building from scratch! Buying a house /servicing a loan to buy a house are both expensive. If you run broke while building you can take a break but you can’t take a break for a loan.

As a human rights activist who is calling for fairness in treatment of people in society, do you think it’s logical to speak only agst govt when it comes to language used on social media on this conflict ? The Rwandan side has equally used harsh criticism way more than Ug.
@SpireJim
It’s called constructive criticism! As a wife of a leading politician in Uganda, she should atleast know the limits of her speech and also not to spread false information and hyperbole statements. Ugandans can’t forgive her when it comes to that.

Reparations would be a good initiative if not for the high level of corruption that is evident in Africa. Govt officials may end up embezzling funds & the whole thing blows up in our faces. Better for the UK to construct hospitals,roads,schools etc by themselves as reparations.

There is market in Burundi. The main issue is it doesn’t help in the long run by cutting Rwanda out. It also shows that the willingness of government to settle any martial issue it has with Rwanda is very low. It’s also not good for a government advocating for EA intergration.

But are you sure that the humanitarian aid actually reaches the recipients ? Secondly; if SA had its citizens held as hostages by Hamas, would this case have been brought forward ? Their interests would possibly be to have their citizens released just like Russia is doing.
@DoreenNasaasira
Doesn’t he have parents/guardians to cover that ? Under normal circumstances it wouldn’t be advisable. But It will depend on how long you have known him before you take such a risk. Secondly, consider if he has a bright future. That could influence the decision.

I think putting your hope in other people to achieve your personal goals is a recipe for disaster, especially in the public sector. You should instead concentrate on looking for something better, outside rather that waiting for govt to acknowledge yr commitment.

ICU is generally expensive in Ug. A baby under ICU care in some private facilities was being charged 1.5M per day and this was 4yrs ago. Considering the COVID drugs involved like Remedsivir which is very expensive, it’s something we ought to think about and take SOPs seriously.
@DuncanAbigaba
Expelling Ug teachers is a step too far. Many aren’t interested in the conflict. The problem won’t be solved & neither will Ug blink & beg for relations to be restored bse of teachers who can get other jobs in the region.That’s why I like M7’s calm & less emotional approach.

The problem is bringing private party business on social media. He can only be removed thru impeachment which will be unsuccessful since NRM MPs aren’t interested. Even with ‘rehabilitation’, NUP foot soldiers will never forgive him. He just has to leave NUP and find a new party.

Honorary Consuls are not trained diplomats. They are nominated by the countries they represent to serve their interests in Uganda. So people like Ceasor Mulenga (Vietnam), Kirumira (Namibia), Amos Nzeyi( Mauritius) are not trained diplomats but rather businessmen.

Let her visit a dental surgeon! Such a condition is called halitosis and has a number of causes which could be local or systemic. I have worked on such patients before and they get cured. It shouldn’t really result in a break up. It would demonstrate cowardice on his side.
