@muntu_wawansi @KiggunduBisege1 @AgnesAsiimwe She spoke out and took her kid out of the school which is within her rights. You have your rights as well, including not to read her post or even to engage with it in any way. What you don’t have as a right is telling her what to do and what not to do.

@KiggunduBisege1 @muntu_wawansi @AgnesAsiimwe Most parents don’t ask any questions. They either think the school is doing them a favor, don’t care, or they don’t know their rights as stakeholders. Some are also intimidated and put up with the crap.

@muntu_wawansi @AgnesAsiimwe Why do you say that by expressing her opinion and taking action she is ‘soiling someone else’s hardwork’? Parents are stakeholders in the schools where they have children. Is the school doesn’t meet a parent’s expectations the parent has every right to take action and to say so.

Dr Dorothy Kyeyune was listed as a commencement speaker @Makerere’s graduation this year. She did her PhD at Atlantic International University. #MakerereUniversityExhibition The NCHE has stated before in clear terms that it does not recognize degrees from this University. This is the University from which former DVC F&A William Bazeyo got his PhD, it would later be pronounced by the Court as FAKE. As a matter of practice, the selection of commencement speakers is a tedious process that involves a committee that selects the most notable figures to grace the occasion. The platforming of such academics undermines the credibility of academic institutions. @ProfNawangwe

@AKasingye @marc1705 Asan, if you tell a story that sounds suspicious and I ask questions, you expect me to be the one to provide the answers? Is this what you are suggesting? You wrote a book and I imagine if someone asked you a question about your book, you’d gladly provide a response, right?

@edwarupan Nawangwe claims he got a Masters from the Kiev Civil Engineering Institute. That institute changed its name to Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. That’s normal. Why does Nawangwe list the Kiev Institute of Business and Technology instead?amnesia or deceit?

Even UCE has a minimum requirement for a certificate. Nawangwe thinks attending a couple of lectures for 1 out of 4 years is enough to get a Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
A candidate will qualify for the UCE certificate if he / she obtains a competency level grade of D in at least one subject sat #UCE2024

@FGoloobaMutebi @Makerere I think they assumed academics would be trust worthy and more willing to apply logic and reasoning in decision making rather than intuition and brute force. They forgot some academics have shady pasts and are ready to stump on anyone who threatens to open up their closets.

@Kidfromntungamo That’s a name change which is very normal. If you are posting your resume today, we expect you to use the current name not the name of a totally different institution. Example: When I was a student the acronym for Mak was MUK.

So his own peers questioned his academic credentials but the authorities including the education minister (a school dropout) ignored the appeals.
I was first contacted about the issue of @ProfNawangwe’s academic qualifications in 2022 during the process of renewing his contract as VC. I was swamped at the time and somehow I forgot to get back to it. I think that if Nawangwe hadn’t presided over the current reign of terror at @Makerere people would have ignored the issues of his academic papers since he has already led the university for 8 years anyway. But like I said, I think there’s a causal relationship between the (lack of) academic credentials and the mess at our cherished alma mater. Meanwhile, the top governing organ of the University, the minister and President have always been quiet and ignored these complaints. #MakerereUniversityExhibition
