I am deeply saddened by the passing of His Highness the Aga Khan, a visionary leader whose faith-driven development transformed lives globally. In Uganda, his contributions to energy (Bujagali Hydro Power Plant), finance (Diamond Trust Bank, Jubilee Insurance, etc.), education (60,000 educated in the Aga Khan early childhood programmes), and in other areas like tourism (Serena Hotels), media (the Nation Media Group that publishes The Monitor newspaper), etc were profound. His legacy of human dignity and progress will endure. My heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and the larger community that he led. May his successor carry forward his noble mission.

Dear Friends, I am truly grateful for the overwhelming number of birthday messages I have received since yesterday. As I celebrate my 76th birthday, I reflect on the incredible journey I have had, shaped by the friendships and experiences we've shared.
