@chernobelskiy I’ve never heard anyone make having an 8 figure net worth sound so miserable.

@Camp4 This totally ignores that it’s possible to operate with urgency when it matters (in business) but chill out when it doesn’t (in traffic, or deplaning). Acting with urgency at all times is a sign of an anxiety disorder.

@jeffdornik @theliamnissan Is testing a potential future method that could increase rainfall 5% to 15%, as discussed in that article, remotely the same thing as creating and aiming a rainstorm at a particular wildfire right now?.

My most memorable law firm interview, with a top firm in Los Angeles, was the interviewer insulting every line item in my resume, and insinuating that I was an Arizona country bumpkin and likely nepotism beneficiary. Got the callback, though…?.
Had a law firm interview that was just a bunch of questions about what you would bring with you to an island. I said some local beer. Friend of mine - who was 11th in my class - said like Macallan or something didn't make it past the first interview.

@shawngorham I’m convinced the people saying AZ has no water have never been here or talked to a hydrologist. It’s just a popular New York Times headline every now and then.

@jeffdornik @theliamnissan So a 4 year pilot program that started 2 months ago to research increasing snowfall in an entire mountain range during an entire winter by 5% to 15%…. …should be capable of aiming a rainstorm at a 40k acre fire in a 5 day period. Listen to yourself. Does that sound reasonable?.

@chernobelskiy $1MM into high yield savings or treasuries, dollar cost averaging into index funds over next 5 years. Use $200k to start a business.

@ItsMattsLaw Lots of GC postings like this. Wanting 10-15 years of experience in specialized or lucrative area, with prior large firm and GC experience. Salary? $150k-$200k. I don’t know who in the world is applying to that.

@EstateBets1135 Because partners are not W-2. I think most partners enjoy their job too, and there’s a huge variety of lifestyles - some partners are billing 1,200 hours a year, others are billing well in excess of 2,000.

@KevinLMak @TMFAssociates All that you’re missing is that Tim wants to frame $ASTS in the worst possible light by disingenuously estimating their revenue based on terrestrial wholesale rates, ignoring that you can both oversell capacity and that, uh, it’s from space…and in high demand.

@WillCJohns @EstateBets1135 Bringing in business, billing at a high rate, or serving a specialized need. 1,200 hours x $800 = $960,000. And that’s not a huge rate for a partner, depending on the market.

@SMB_Attorney Caring a lot about “work-life balance” when you’re under 30 and don’t have kids yet is a bit of a red flag. Sleep, exercise, social life are important for all ages. But often what “work-life balance” means is lots of Netflix, Amazon, scrolling, etc.

@Camp4 Sitting at the front and not checking a bag is strategic urgency. Fine. Makes sense. Standing up, pulling your bags out, attempting to be the first one to occupy the aisle upon deplaning, huffing/puffing impatiently, etc. is futile antisocial idiocy.

Also happy to share I just found out I passed the July 2023 Nevada bar exam. As much as I enjoyed walking through hundreds of slot machines to go answer Torts essay questions, I’m now 100% done with bar exams. (Please excuse the LinkedIn nature of this post.).
I’m pleased to share I am one of the 32% of examinees who passed the February 2023 California bar exam. Felt crazy doing this over a decade out of law school, studying some subjects I’ve completely forgotten, all while maintaining a practice full time, but happy I did it.

A little early to flex, but sure, why not. I don’t get any points for portfolio diversity. $ASTS
$ASTS I don’t wanna completely flex on you so I’m only gonna flex my average cost. Just so you know I experienced the full pain of getting diluted by Abel. I dreamed about slapping him in the face every night. But, in the low $2s I (somewhat emotionally) averaged down heavily.

@chicanocub23 @jeffdornik @theliamnissan Most people aren’t conspiracy theorists, but they let conspiracy theories fill in blanks. 1. Fire hydrants also ran dry during the Lahaina fire and Tubbs fire. It’s known to happen and not unique to this fire. 2. Didn’t only 20% of Palisades’s hydrants run dry? Not all of them.

@sunnywinnersday @quantian1 You may be surprised to learn that people don’t discount their stated net worth based on liquidity limitations. It’s based on fair market value. Elon probably couldn’t liquidate his TSLA without crashing it. He’s still richer than Buffett, who could exit Berkshire w/ more $.

@XFinancialX I don’t remember any $ASTS holders trying to dunk on $RKLB when one was $39 and the other was $7. Seems odd that so many $RKLB holders’ first instinct in looking at their gains and to dog on a totally unrelated company that’s actually a potential launch customer of $RKLB.
