Great metrics this morning at the jr natty showcase this morning. 103 ev off a tee is a new pr for me 💪. Velos were pretty solid too looking forward to the games.

Strong round of BP from Shelar, 2026 outfielder from Marist HS (GA). Present strength is evident, multiple mid 90's EV in the round.

As physical as you’ll find in the
@PBRGeorgia
2026 class, OF Martin Shelar smokes a ball to the pull-side for a knock.
Electric bat speed with ability to find impact in the barrel consistently.
A-A runner as well.

Two swings first pulled 350+ feet barely foul second is line drive off a curveball. Clear how more tilt would keep the foul homerun fair whereas the second video I tilt effectively giving me direction to hit a curveball.

Some freaky bat speed and results from ‘26 Martin Shelar (GA)
Left the yard to all fields with electricity/whip to the barrel. Some rawness to the setup/approach, but exits speak for themselves.

Took some great cuts today. Started implementing a toe tap and have been loving it. Did some foam ball drill work and some lefty hammers! Hardest hit of the day 101.8 with a wood bat thank you to

Starting to heal up from my hip injury and am getting back into swinging. Although I’ve been injured I’ve done upper body isolation work and my launch quickness has significantly improved. Here are 3 of my favorite drills.

Yes why don’t we all throw slow pitches with no movement but hit our spots and we’ll be successful! It’s almost as though you believe that training to emulate great players is a bad thing. This game is just progressing faster and getting more advanced than you can comprehend.
@ChezWhizzz
sorry not the same I love teacherman content but that’s not the same. front arm pulls with Harper to flatten barrel back. richard snaps his hands and are the only things moving the barrel. harper has connection to his body. Rich doesn’t, just has the hands.
@PitchingCoachU
@GessnerJosh
Just curious generally speaking when it comes to pitch design. Is pitch grip the primary factor to better movement? How important is finger pressure, pitch cues, etc in comparison to pitch grip?
@Teacherman1986
Interesting how this same rear leg loading pattern exists in high velocity throwers as well. Riding closed hips with a coiled back leg builds tension as the pitcher moves down the mound.
@skachour28
Interesting how it’s the WBHP (wear bearing heel plant) that dictates when the bat snaps. Probably how guys like Ohtani still have tremendous quickeness despite the front foot being down early.
@skachour28
@jones_jeshua
This is still shot represents what you are referring to it is a tilt and snap rearward combined with the “hip slip” aka hips riding forward as the torso stays behind the legs.
For pro velo bat drill I used two bands in this video but that’s as high as I would go the emphasis needs to be to move faster not apply more resistance.
@Teacherman1986
The difference is huge, all three Belli on the right have wide open hips pulling off the ball losing the tension and corner that was created. Belli on the left rides closed hips forwards building tension in the back leg as he moves forward. Even with the pitches being the same.
@Cl4ytona_500
I agree to an extent. I love teachermans content and believe in it and have success with it. There is a time for mechanics and thought in training being mentally purposeful with each rep. However at the end of the day learning to move athletically through the mechanics is needed.
@Teacherman1986
No matter the technique sometimes a swing like this is necessary especially with two strikes. However that is what good technique should do, it should give you more “wiggle room” and launch quickness does just that. It give you time to recognize therefore limiting fooled swings.
@jones_jeshua
@skachour28
No problem in fact I experimented with it and I found internally rotating the back leg contributed to this hip slip as well as getting the tilt I wanted.
@johnb_sp
I have seen 108 performance do a similar drill variation with the PVC pipe. They had each side banded so you would always have a force pulling you and one that you push through. Appears to be an effective drill for efficient rotation. 👍
