A lad who is 18 in 4 months was referred to an adult #NHS service with a 1 year waiting list. His referral was rejected as not 18, even though he would be when eventually seen. Paeds waiting list too long. This demonstrates complete lack of common sense. The NHS is full of it.

There is going to come a point when @TheBMA is going to need to make a decision. I suspect the BMA Council will need to ask GPs, Consultants and Junior Doctors if they are all prepared to walk out. Full withdrawal of labour at the same time. Indefinitely. = Likely resolution.

The ignorance here is astonishing. (He's a GP) GPs have to pay for location, staff, heating, lights, etc Best case scenario is the business breaks even at £10 per jab. Worst case, the GPs lose money/pay to provide the service. All whilst providing a normal GP service too.

6% takes a doctor’s starting salary to £31,147 + the consolidated £1250 payment = £32,397. Starting salary for a Physician’s Assistant is £43,742. Physician’s Assistants are NOT doctors. They can’t prescribe meds. They can’t request X-rays. They are supervised by doctors.

@timcs1968 Absolutely. That would definitely make more sense.

Final part below The Government are doing everything they can to delay and avoid negotiations. They are to blame here. They need to be held accountable. The media - if it has any impartiality left somewhere - needs to make the public aware of the Government's persistent failings.

@BBCBreakfast the #juniorcontract is about patient safety and survival of the NHS. Your decision to ignore y/days protest is disgusting

The silence is deafening from pur college. Perhaps the rest of you would like to ask @KamilaRCGP the same question. Why do you say GPs have no desire to strike over pay? Why are you not supporting our profession at a time when we most need to be united?

Can you explain why you told a group of MPs that GPs do not have a particular desire to strike over pay? The RCGP is not a union, it is well outside your remit. A motion to strike was overwhelmingly carried 2 months ago by UK LMCs. Are you on our side? @KamilaRCGP @Parody_RCGP

@SteveBarclay If I bent the truth like this, I would be hauled in front of the GMC. Develop some integrity for goodness sake.

Fighting to protect and preserve the contractor model of General Practice. A salaried model would be a disaster for patients as well as the profession. Overwhelmingly Carried (part 5 taken as a reference). #LMCConf

Patients are suffering. NHSE are using Covid regs to impose a real terms cut to services on General Practice. The profession has spoken and has had enough. It's time for @NHSEngland to engage properly or face the consequences.

Today the BMA's GP committee in England has entered into dispute with NHS England over the 2024/25 GP contract.  @doctor_katie has written to NHS England stating her commitment to finding "mutually acceptable solutions to this dispute to benefit patients and practices". [1/2]

@UHP_NHS @DrMinaIp @BMA_James_Steen Take Ownership is one of the Core Values of your Trust. I assume you will ensure that this is taken seriously, the person responsible "takes ownership" and following disciplinary proceedings, apologises to the doctors it was sent to?

@TheBMA @BMA_GP I was dismayed to read this article today. As a member, I hope you intend to do a full investigation. It sounds as though there is a sexist culture which needs addressing within your ranks. What do you intend to do about it?

The best possible choice to give us the strongest possible chance for the upcoming contract negotiations (they're still not going to go well, of course - so be prepared) @BMA_GP

@rcgp @HelenRCGP Any plans to revoke the "Companion of the College" award given to The Sultan of Brunei in wake of the introduction of laws to stone to death those participating in homosexual activity? Does this comply with the ideals of the college? #LGBTQ #NHS

@doctor_oxford @gmcuk @TheBMA For a long time it's felt like a "be careful what you wish for" situation. Felt it ridiculous that we pay for our own potential executioner. Then recently - they appear to be an extension of Government anyway.. Could it be worse? Possibly. Do they need reform? Definitely.
