3/ the current NHS situation is far from perfect and pay is terrible on international/developed country standards. If I was single and haven’t got a NTN, I would have left UK for sure, but not to HK, probably Australia, Canada or take USMLE for US!

1/ When I was a Med student/FY, I was desperate to move back to HK, having done summer placements & electives in PWH/QMH I’m not sure - yes much higher salary + low tax but housing is significantly higher than the UK, worse work life balance + toxic hierarchical culture

So grateful to spend past couple of weeks with family, after 7 days hotel quarantine - last time I’ve seen my parents was Dec 2019, and haven’t managed to get back to HK since due to some of the strictest COVID-19 regulations in the world.. until next time 🇭🇰

2/ the 1 consultant per department structure confuses me, often the “consultant” is non-clinical. So many “associate consultants”. Most doctors don’t rotate apart from a few months of their entire training 🤔 needless to say the increasing Chinese influence in HK is concerning
