@Bolverk15 This game is great example of why "we can't have nice things". Its a AA game punching up to Bethesda's 4 year 300 dev cycle, and it still ticks all the boxes, branched questlines, interesting characters with actual dialogue trees, balanced combat, and yet people don't like it.

@ZullieTheWitch That's me! A few years ago some YT said that a huge oart of their revenue became YT Red (Premium) specially for longer videos, can you see the revenue breakdown in your channel? or is that no longer there?.I won't cancel, I use YT too much and it just makes sense to not have ads.

@fiImgal funny but common herd behaviour, sheep and cattle don't all know when the corral door is opened they just know to follow each other and if the line intersects itself they endup on an endless loop. You can see the same behaviour with ant's death circles.

@xlr8harder @Yuukonink @foxville_art I am a software engineer too and I understand that when a technological change brings more negatives than positives then it must be stopped, the crafts that people love to do aren't meant to be automatized, AI companies should work towards automatizing UV wrapping for example.

@HelloCullen people make fun of the unobtanium but that just shows Cameron's attention to detail since that was the scientific placeholder name for elements above atomic number 106 and still is for room temperature superconductors (like the one in the movie).

@AlexGodofsky if you mean exactly like the first two pictures, thats a gimmick and you already saw all it can do. If you mean the genre of optical illusions that's well, a whole genre, historically just paintings that look like skulls probably number in the dozens of thousands

@xlr8harder @Yuukonink @foxville_art The only reason you say you're not bothered is because you're ignorant of the fact that proc gen music will replace your job and the sheer amount of content will make your art undiscoverable and everyone will be worse for it, if you don't have a solution for this you have nothing.

@AngryBirdsAppr1 @p2isonline Columbus landed on an island that he called San Salvador which was inhabited by the lucayans which he described as peaceful and gentle, he made them slaves as part of his businesses and the Hispaniola gov worked them until their complete eradication, they were probably 40k people.

@BrandyLJensen His history is super interesting when he was 16 he was super fat and his friends called him Fat Henry and one day Russell Crowe visited his school and confided on him "the pay is great but they treat you like shit" and Henry was like "Imah be an actor" and got super shredded.

@billyrohr @CoolB110 @AhangingChad @TomasOssandon1 @lostinhist0ry Roman Empire pipes had a patina that prevented the lead from contacting the water flow, it is supposed they just forgot how this was done properly, its so humbling how such kind of critical knowledge can just become lost.

@NagaConnie It was very weird for me to see game developers go from boycotting Blizzard to posting their D4 builds, it kinda soured me on them, I even stopped playing SC2 to try AoE IV, there's so many games that not playing ActiBlizz games is rather easy.

@Bolverk15 yeah the series has the wrong conclusion, otherwise what about Fukushima? or Three Mile Island?.Institutions aren't people, but they can be used as a facade, so that it takes the blame for the actions of individuals.

@VitoGamberini @SpeakMouthWords @Cybren @ZackDAbrams @i_zzzzzz Wikipedia nerd here, the whole WP including media is "only" 276 TBs and many people hold backups, WP also weirdly gets 10x times more donation than it needs to run, if it ever fails it is be reasonable to get it running again quickly under something like Gutenberg LB or Archive.

@Kavryel @JoelCHoltzman this is still a fair simplification of how diffusion works tho, once you have a noise field and you sample it to reconstruct the original piece what do you think the values are compared to?.

@KimSjopi @Bolverk15 and yet the damage and deaths caused by oil spills far surpass these, that's my problem with the series, it's framed very much as an error that happens "there" and not "here", and that's not how infraestructure works.

@alexriesart Im a programmer and honestly I want them outlawed, I dont want compromises I think media generation should be illegal altogether, theres no scenario where it brings any benefits and the downsides of false impersonation are just a nightmare dystopia, art will be the smallest loss.

@vikare06 the design they went for is more faithful to the books. but then the armour design they went for House Atreides doesn't fit them at all, I'd love to know what happened with the costume and set design for this movie, there's a lot of empty space on it.

@bornposting I had friends who still watched it but dropped along the way, at one point they killed Carl for no other reason than the actor had turned 18 and they had to renegotiate his contract. The show is living proof that people truly don't care, as long as the "trains are on time".

@Trey_Explainer you watched the Netflix interview with Cuarón and Iñárritu? He talks about how he wasn't very good as a first husband and that all humans are monsters and film monsters are an aid to talk about this and the other directors are like "sure but dude you're the sweetest of all".

@manfightdragon They should have slashed requirements in half instead, it makes more sense to need 1, 2, and 3 smithing stones rather than 2, 4, 6. So odd to reach the first smithing equipment and there's only one smithing stone, and why is it easier to upgrade with somber stones?.

@andrewpprice @e_matray this is a fallacy where you conflate the problem (fossil fuels) with the solution (renewable solutions and nuclear) by using the blanket term "energy dependence" you know there is a difference.

@ArtStationHQ ArtStation's content guidelines should prohibit machine generated content, or they should tag it and filter it out by default, it is a common sense decision. Prompting is not creating just like copying the moves of a bot is not playing chess.

@rednotbluefish @GreatCheshire its the folk hero Mad Max approach, because he keeps his opinions and emotions to himself what's spoken about him wildly differs from person to person or faction to faction, its great storytelling.

@kdeveryjacobs there isn't really any movie that survives this kind of criticism, it is a great way to make no one want to touch these stories, the opposite of what id want. Hadn't they shown any violence you could have just as easily accuse them of trying to hide the cruelty of the murders.

@merrittk Its so interesting to note how legible and colourful Elden Ring is too. While some games need giant markers or UI popups to show you where a cave is, in Elden Ring you can just look at a rock facade and see the cave opening lmao. In arts we call this the illusion of detail.
