made a whole quiz where you try to guess the famous individual based on their wiki table of contents
I'm outside SBF's courtroom where Caroline Ellison just entered. When asked to identify SBF, she stood up and took around 30+ seconds to scan the room before spotting him. Everyone in the overflow room I was with was laughing in disbelief. Is it the haircut? The suit?
@hun____ter
funny, yes, but ultimately the guinness world records is a profit-seeking enterprise so you'd just end up making them more money
which is covered, among many many other things, in this excellent video essay
There are a lot of cheap brands that are not fast fashion. Hanes, Dickies, Carhartt, Camber, Lands' End, Vans, Wrangler, Lee, and Clarks are not about bringing the hottest trends off the runway to the store ASAP. I would include The Gap, Old Navy, and Uniqlo in that.
It's official:

is much richer than he used to be, and he owes it all to a shitpost.
(He could be even richer, but he gave half his winnings to charity)

I saw her tonight at the sufjan show on broadway, she was literally standing outside the theater waiting for a friend with hundreds of new yorkers walking past every minute. Unbothered queen!!

the near omnipotence of tiktok's algorithm makes it so clear to me that every dating app could pair you with your true love within a few swipes but chooses not to because then there would be no business model to make you sign up for LonelyPLUS or serve you a million ads
@computer_gay
i kinda hate how comfortable gen Z is with "ironic" homophobia and misandry which... basically sounds and feels indistinguishable from the same thing.

joe answering "at least three" when a troll asked him how many genders there are has gotta rank among the best moments of trans activism by politicians

she's an example of how tiktok is a super insular ecosystem (mostly bc content that works there doesn't really work on any other platform) if you're on tiktok, you absolutely know who she is. if you're not, you most likely don't.

If only the writers were interested in populating the world with complex characters and political intrigue rather than making the Good Starks vs Bad Guys show...that Arya/Sansa/Littlefinger Winterfell arc was atrocious
New from me:
2023's biggest crypto hack (so far) was also its strangest: who steals $200 million, just to give it back three weeks later? Why had the hacker sent money both to a victim of the attack and to North Korean hackers?
I found some answers — from the hacker himself.
BREAKING: The man who stole $200 million from Euler Finance in 2023's biggest crypto hack, only to return it all, is telling his side of the story for the first time:
I'm seeing this screenshot get spread around a lot — important to note that in court, Caroline said that SBF estimated he had a "5% chance" of becoming President one day.
This screenshot makes it sounds like SBF said it was a certainty
Ellison's questioning will resume at 2. My big questions:
What did Caroline know about fiat@ and when?
What did Caroline do when SBF directed her to hedge?
Did Caroline know about the "Korean friend"?
Check out my latest trial coverage at

Lunchtime at SBF's trial!
What struck me today are some of the terms the jury is hearing without getting definitions: "algorithmic stablecoin," "defi," and "dex." Are they lost?
The jury definitely understood when Caroline and Gary said "I committed crimes with Sam," though.
Well, I wasn't planning on writing another story tonight.
And then I saw that Sam wrote "In the end, *everything* is my responsibility," in a draft document just two months before the collapse.
Read the rest of his thoughts from an unpublished draft Twitter thread here:

I've been also thinking about Villeneuve's choice to make Liet-Kynes a woman — in part 1 the women are the ones who have long-term plans and you get the sense they know more about what's going on than the men, who are just playing out a petty conflict.
