Our local hospital said they couldn't carry out the scheduled cancer treatment for a relative. Meanwhile staff were furloughed and the hospital a ghost town.
The relative died a slow and painful death as the once treatable cancer ate them down to the bone.

This happened at my post office, the lady realised and was absolutely horrified at what she had done. Everyone in the queue had a good laugh and offered to let her go in front as it would easier with the dog but she wouldn't have it. Now she always shouts "is there a queue?" 🤣

McDonald's are also a great public service for those travelling on a budget. I can get a well priced hot meal or snack along with somewhere to sit down and a (usually very) clean toilet. They don't hike their prices at service stations either, unlike other restaurants.
