I think what’s annoyed me about the Laura Woods tweet is the doubling down despite being told she is wrong. It’s a problem that permeates all discourse but it’s especially disappointing for Woods in particular, being a voice on women in sports.

My concern with this lauded set-up of Edwards and co. was that they would try to be too clever. Show everyone they’re the smartest in class. And this Zubimendi deal feels exactly that. They thought they pulled it off and then briefed us it was done because the kid said “yeah ok”.
