@ChadNotChud You can say it’s the Earth, and close enough, but in fact it’s me personally that’s at the center of the observable universe.

@JMSimpsonauthor I haven’t written a book but I imagine that it’s like baking bread. Pretty easy to bake bread, very hard to bake particularly good bread, nigh impossible to bake good bread in a commercially profitable way.

@lumbjackwharfie In fact I think European style headlights that intelligently avoid blinding people are illegal.

@socialistdogmom I think they lucked out and used the kind of UV that burns the surface of your eyes rather than the retina, so are mostly recovering rather than being permanently blinded. Mostly.

@walterkirn Oh nos; a message that didn’t land with Ivy League professional writers from the Midwest! That may cost the Democrats dozens of votes, assuming the professional writers in question don’t find anything about Donald Trump off putting.

@DaltonDEmery There’s a biodynamic farm near me that farms by astrology and they have to do stuff like bury a cow horn by the light of the moon for fertility and I think it’s mostly nonsense but their produce is awesome and my garden sucks.

@katiebcanttweet @julesgambit @EdwardN_78 I can’t actually play chess, I just photographically memorized all possible piece positions and whatever “move” I’m supposed to make, because that’s so much easier than learning how a knight moves.

@vanillaopinions In their defense I love the Apollo program and the moon landings but they were expensive and mostly pointless boondoggles in my opinion, we ran it like a race, declared victory and haven’t been back until a couple weeks ago; there were lots of less awesome but more useful options.

@RazztheTerrible @TierZoo @flyerswitch Dogs and wolves endurance hunt, but they only have to have more stamina than their prey, and there’s a tradeoff in burst speed and holding heat. Humans wear clothes and take them off but animals have to wear their coats all the time.

@Please_B_Normal @agraybee I mean, I guess I’m intellectually un-curious about the existence of dragons? Like I can make a case for a Komodo dragon or a Roman flamethrower or Pterodactyl or whatever being a dragon but Game of Thrones dragons flying around with people is hard for me to discuss respectfully.

@DaSkrubKing When I was 18 I had to get a form and submit it, which did seem kinda pointless. I think that there was some vague threat if I didn’t do it but I don’t remember what it was.

@rodger @janecoaston The stuff that you had to do to get a pineapple in London boggles the mind. Teams of experts. Rich people would rent them for people to gaze upon at their parties and return them uneaten so that even richer people could eat them.

@iGingerwizard @lumbjackwharfie Ya, I’m just grumbling because they shouldn’t be illegal when the blinding ones are legal. IMO criminalize blinding people too much and let people use what used to be normal headlights or spring for smart bright ones.

@slavojtrex Eh, situationally. My old contractor boss used to bill the commute one way, which discouraged far away people from hiring us and wasting our time. And I think that a bunch of lawyers double or triple bill their commutes, but I won’t defend that.

@vanillaopinions I dropped my guard and immediately got COVID about a year ago, bring careful sucks but it’s not that bad, it’s hard to say if it’s a good idea. Quite likely for pregnant people or immunocompromised people to my understanding, possibly for everyone. Would be a great idea if.

@talulahshARC People rarely get COVID wearing n95s, and I suspect most of them weren’t wearing eye protection, eye transmission to my understanding is ~2% of spread. Theoretically there could be fomites but I think that’s 0% for some reason. Many people are resistant to many exposures,.

@duns_sc0tus I think it’s another chemical in the tobacco particularly. Inhaling smoke and ash is bad, but chewing tobacco is carcinogenic also, it’s just not the nicotine causing the cancer. Actually I wonder if they could isolate and GMO it away, although it would still be bad for you.
