As a UT alum, I'm thrilled they didn't stand for the protestors spewing anti-semitism and hatred of the Jewish people. You DO realize District 10 is the home of the JCC and a large Jewish population, and many, many others who support them and Israel's right to defend themselves.

They are spending 4 times that much to deal w the homeless problem they created. I’d rather spend the money on public safety. My neighbor had to find his own stolen car and even w people inside they wouldn’t press charges bc they didn’t see them actually steal it.

You're answering your own question. The prices will be high, partly bc it costs a lot to build now. Partly bc developers will be raking in the bucks. In the process, ruining quality of life in our neighborhoods, which is what has made Austin such a great place to live!

No, the DPS only did what UT Pres Hartzell said last night - did not allow the outside agitators to occupy UT's campus like what's been happening at Colombia and other universities. There are consequences for breaking the law.

That street should have two lanes each direction with cars and bikes sharing the outside lanes. Ridiculous waste of pavement. And the cyclists will be riding in the car lanes anyway. Waste of taxpayer $. Will cause more accidents than there would've been before.

My theory is that many are too poor & busy trying to exist to gather info. Others drug addicted. Also many illegal immigrants in D4. Easy place for DSA to get an in to a position that has too much power over the rest of Austin. Single member districts screwed Austin.

This! We worked hard all our lives, moved up from a smaller house to a slightly larger one. We chose to live in a single family neighborhood, rather than a dense downtown location. Now, people we didn’t vote for get to ruin it for us.

A repeat offender attacked and permanently disfigured a security guard downtown. Thankfully our officers were able to arrive on scene quickly to apprehend the suspect and provide life saving aid to the victim.

By the time anyone reads the paper, news is out of date. I don't hear about anything even remotely investigative - just going along with whatever city hall tells you. Very biased writing. And crazy expensive. I used to take the paper, but no longer do. I most miss Ellie Rucker.
