Jennifer, this is totally inaccurate. The Maricopa County Attorney is totally independent of the Sheriff’s Office. Sincerely, the Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court.
Only this crowd of clueless old white guys wold pick someone from Sheriff Joe's operation. I was saying no self-respecting lawyer would take the job of giving cover to GOP cowards. I was right.

@commbankerguy It’s a heavy check in my view. I don’t think there’s any coming back from cutting someone’s pay and if you’re doing to do that I think you have to be prepared to lose him.

“And while we’re at it, it’s time to stop giving the citizens of Geneva the power to write our laws of war. A neutral country, no less.”.
By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans.

@lifesafeast G-grandfather born prior to parents marriage in Italy. They had more kids but he was ostracized and lived in an orphanage. One day a villager said: you’ll never overcome the stigma if you stay - come to America with me. He did. And took the man’s last name - my name - DeRose.

Took an interest in his daughter’s education, singing, and sports. Had the tough conversations. Responsive to his son’s cries for help. Children went on to practice law and work in show business. (Seen here taking his daughter on a perfectly ordinary college visit).

@chrishlad Absolutely what I’d expect from someone who followed the conventional path from Ivy to financial sweatshop. Sounds like more of a way to justify how you wasted your 20’s than good advice.

@curious_founder @ruthbenghiat At least we’re using electoral votes now. Not sure many are claiming “landslide,” but certainly decisive, and only one person has won bigger in the past 25 years. At a certain point of looking back it’s no longer a useful comparison.

The report is credibly sourced and doesn’t appear to be challenged. It concerns a major public issue. Why are @Facebook and @Twitter trying to prevent people from reading and where does this stop?.
.@Facebook I want to know on what grounds you are actively censoring a news report about potentially illegal corruption by the Democrat candidate for president. If you have evidence this is “disinformation,” disclose it immediately. Expect a formal inquiry from my office.

It sounds good to (falsely) say that “hate speech” is prohibited by the First Amendment. The problem - and why we have 1A - is that someone in the political process gets to decide what “hate speech” means and incarcerate the speaker. @Tim_Walz should know this.

‘@KamalaHarris is completely wrong about what Abraham Lincoln did with his election year Supreme Court vacancy. Support whatever candidate you want - or any Supreme Court Justice. But Harris didn’t come close to getting this right. (Thread).

@TheTJHelm That’s kind of the point here - you’re not fighting Nazis. You’re hysterical because a woman touched you after your brain broke and you felt the need to insult her boyfriend. We couldn’t have defeated the Nazis with such sad facsimiles of men.

Maybe the best advice I’ll be giving my kids. They’re better off in many ways to be raised by me at 42 rather than 10 or 20 years ago. But man, I think of how much I’m likely to miss having started so late, and it hurts.
Every year you “wait to have kids” is a year you won’t have with them when they are adults, and a year you won’t have with grandkids. Is your brunch life now really so cool as to miss out on that. Doubt it.

This would be a brilliant idea. Any company that wants to sell your student loan at a discount should be required to let you buy it for the same price.
Just got notice that my loan servicer is changing, which likely means that my loans were once again sold for pennies on the dollar. Can I "buy" my own loans at a similarly stupid discount and then "forgive" them? #studentloans.

Americans in 1900 worked a thousand more hours a year for effectively a tenth of the pay. It may not be trendy to say, but you’re lucky to be living here right now.
American workers today spend around 2000 hours a year at work, while our 1900 counterparts worked 50% more. Over the same period, real hourly wages have gone up 10-fold, and the inflation-adjusted price of leisure has dropped by more than half.

99% of the responses to @SenGillibrand announcing for president are Democrats mad at her over Al Franken. Seriously. Read for yourself.
Tonight I announced that I’m preparing to run for president, because I believe we’re all called to make a difference. I believe in right vs. wrong – that wrong wins when we do nothing. Now is our time to raise our voices and get off the sidelines. Join me:

@ThatEricAlper Concur with others who’ve said Buddy Holly. Dead at 22, he had already changed the course of music history. Probably the biggest influence on the Beatles and had a major impact on Elvis. I don’t think anyone could’ve done more with a little more time.

Don’t love anything that can’t love you back. Your employer will probably lay you off when it makes economic sense to do so.
Every time there's a layoff announcement, I can't help but think one thing:. As much as you want to believe otherwise after working that 80 hour week, your relationship with your employer is one sided.

We have people who think they fight fascists by arguing with those who don’t agree with them on Twitter and meanwhile are fine with America ignoring the plight of the Uighurs.
These cases are interesting in light of Joe Biden’s decision to ignore China’s own genocide. Everyone thinks they would have fought Nazis, in reality Biden has endorsed the CCP regime - and his supporters don’t even blink.

Sorry for the language but he’s right. Our public health communication during Covid has run the gamut, and this bleak “Get the shot so nothing will change” message is the worst of a bad lot.
For fuck's sake - tell people the ways in which their lives will improve after they get vaccinated, not the ways in which their lives will stay exactly the same. What the hell is wrong with your brains???.

I had a 3rd grade teacher who wrote on my report card: “I know that you’ll be successful, whatever you do in life.” That was 36 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday.
Sometimes all a person needs is someone that believes in them . No advice. No pressure. No compassion. Just a simple "I believe in you".

@realEstateTrent We mapped this all the way out a few years back. 1 - Serve clients off the island; 2 - Pay yourself a reasonable salary (PR treasury has deemed 10% of profits a safe harbor); 3 - Be physically present in the continental US less than half the year; 4 - Pay only 4% taxes. No IRS.

Arizona tried letting everyone turn any property into a short term rental. This has been a major driver of our housing shortage. It’s time to acknowledge our mistake and let cities regulate STRs.
@girdley When LA banned AirBnB in most apartment buildings like 5 yrs ago, there was a noticeable increase in inventory & a material decline in rents. (And that was with pretty half-a*sed enforcement of the ban.).

What kind of conservative gets this excited about taxing people? Especially young people about to get something approaching fair compensation.
If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I’ll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to “cash in” to income taxes.

Progressive allies of Mayor Brandon Johnson have released a financial blueprint titled - and I'm not joking - "First We Get the Money" calling for $12 billion in new taxes, including:. "Head tax" of $33 per worker for companies with 50+ employees. Quadrupling the tax on jet fuel.
