The *actual government* suggesting that courts shouldn't be able to place limits on their power.
Using *emergency legislation* to deport a handful of asylum seekers to a country ruled to be unsafe.
Reeks of desparation.
We are a reasonable country, but our patience has now run out.
Our Parliament is sovereign, and it should be able to make decisions that cannot be undone in our courts.

What an absurd comment. Parliament has an average age that is about 10 years higher than that of the UK. Younger people getting into politics should be seen as a good thing, not ridiculed. If these comments were the other way around, they'd be called out as agist.

I think, fundamentally, this is one of the things I like most about British politics.
The fact our leaders have some level of mutual respect and understanding irrespective of the heated nature of day-to-day political debate can only be a good thing.
Hard to imagine Trump, Biden, Vance and Harris having a good laugh after the election like Sunak, Starmer, Dowden and Rayner are.
