People still believe in the whole human waves myth from WW2, and buoyed by reports of Russian tactics in Ukraine, retroactively apply that to the whole of Russian/soviet military history
@Combination_K
It’s true the Russian army really dropped the ball on several occasions, but they’ve adapted to the war (as has Ukraine). But it should also be noted Russia isn’t the USSR and this war has been fought using doctrine that the red army wouldn’t be using anyway

I’m sure all the dead people starved to death during the bengal famine are lining up to agree with you. Colonialism built rail roads and infrastructure insofar as to expedite resource extraction. It wasn’t out of the goodness of their hearts

Sure, how about “Collapse” by Vladimir M. Zubok? It goes into great detail about how the collapse of the USSR was not inevitable.
@Mirs_____
@mudshevik
Raised the standard of living dramatically, defeated the Nazis, first satellite in space, first human in space, helped support liberation movements worldwide?
@posting_forever
Reading Collapse by Vladimir Zubok and you’d have to deliberately try to top what actually happened. If anything you could pluck a random Joe off the street and they could have held the USSR together better than gorby

I think the Norman invasion of England is different in that the Normans didn’t round up all Anglo saxons and put them in an open air prison where they then proceeded to systematically kill all of them

You people are really obsessed with blackrock for some reason. they issue index funds that everyone with a retirement account in the entire country invests in which is why they own partial shares in many stocks lol, they’re not some shadowy cabal
@AzovLife
@CarlZha
wtf even is a “death cult”. I think that more accurately describes you people who gleefully share videos of Russian soldiers dying. I remember you cretins cheering the kerch bridge collapse while civilian cars fell into the sea

If 'everything he could' is to build up stockpiles of food for future use in Britain while refusing or negotiating down shipments of food to India until he was forced to send sufficient quantities of food by threats of resignation /
