GLP-1 weight loss drugs (e.g., Ozempic) are a Faustian bargain which will come back to haunt society in a few years. Why? ±30-40% of weight loss is MUSCLE loss. And when you go off the GLP-1, the fat comes back -- but not the muscle. This will cause our currently over-fat people.

Metformin is a red herring as a geroprotector. Better to focus efforts on compounds with a larger effect size anyway (±5% lifespan extension in mice, with an optimized dose and U-shaped curve). Rapamycin is more promising (10-20% extension) + the NIA ITP .

@nathanbenaich I'm a biochemistry by training, and this is fairly trivial, TBH. There are databases for looking up proteins (e.g. UniProt). There is too much hype in bio AI. Even if it did something computationally intensive like what AlphaFold does, biochemistry in general not the.

@aubreydegrey Good thinking Aubrey, we're on the same page about HSC rejuvenation being the highest leverage/most underrated intervention. At ImmuneAGE Bio we have a method of ex vivo expansion by >1000x and rejuvenation cocktails. Mobilization may not be needed with enough cells infused BTW.
