While attending a patient today I had to fetch something from the ambulance. Upon returning I was surprised to find the patient and their bed missing!
βWho are you? What are you doing in my houseβ someone screamed
Wrong house π

Crewmate: rants about gay people
me: you might wanna stop now..Iβm gay
Him: you donβt look gay though
Me:hmm
Him:but you talked about relationships
Me:yeah...
Also starring: lots of references to βnormalβ people
I guess still some work to do

I go to a handover meeting yesterday and I dared to sit in the one βcomfy chairβ
Email this morning: βmedical students should no longer come to handover meeting.β
Coincidence? π

I hated and skived PE at school. The moment I left, started exercise and playing some sports etc. It wasnβt the physical side. Purely the over the top teachers.
Bless my parents who after sending them a screenshot for my deanery spent 20 mins trying to open the link in the picture and phoning me to see if it was a scam message.

Shoutout to the lovely Dr who Iβve never properly met but couldnβt answer my brief question yesterday. Today without asking, came and found me with resources and a video to teach me properly π

Doing graduate entry I was asked by some of the undergrads when I said I was working βwhy do you have a job?β
If thatβs not insight I donβt know what is.
When a guys is like βweβve been chatting for years itβs a shame we havenβt got to meetβ
Me:βYea you stood me up...twiceβ π€·π»ββοΈ

Getting an ID photo taken this morning
Guy:youβre tall. Slouch in the chair...No more...More than that
Me: Iβm practically lying down. Iβll get a double chin.
Guy:itβs not the slouching thatβs giving you a double chin

I was trying to remove my surgical gown after scrubbing in on a cesarean. I couldnβt get the ties undone...not realising theyβre the only thing in surgery thatβs not single use I tore through the gown like the hulk to audible gasps from everyone in theatre
I thought my personal trainer was flirting with me. Then just realised heβs just talking to me normally and not low key like a piece of shit that I get at work most days.
@Doctors_Vote
The power trip to feel they have the right to dictate if this doctor works again as a locum at all is astonishing. Imagine if we decided who works in the office based on our own gut feelings and grievances. So unprofessional.
I was chatting to an HCA at work and I said how I keep missing lunch and was hungry.
A few minutes later she walks in and puts food next to me winks and leaves
I tucked In gratefully.
Suffice it to say she no longer has lunch and I want to die
@maxraja92
Itβs so ridiculous. Having to rank things I wouldnβt do
Me:Iβd do this, the right answer
SJT:But which of the others wouldnβt you do
Me:But I wouldnβt do them
SJT:But which is worse?
Me:It doesnβt matter I wouldnβt do them
SJT:Youβre wrong this one is worse
So while getting a haircut at a new barber He asks me what I do:
Me:Iβm a paramedic and student doctor
Him:Wow. How many people have you watched die?
Long pause....
Me:Thatβs a weird question. Can we just cut my hair.

I spent yesterday morning in the background of a teams meeting. Only at the end I realised my scrubs made my body disappear and I was just a yawning disembodied head.
So I saved into a help to buy ISA for years. Now Iβm looking at houses and find that the average 2 bed flat where Iβm looking is 260k. Canβt use the ISA for properties above 250k. What a waste of time.
@MattHancock
Strange. Whilst working both frontline NHS and now supposedly employed as a doctor (despite being a med student) I have never had a single routine covid test.
Ok so I got offered an FPP in Carlisle. Put it as a wild card and now having to make the decision it fees a bit real. Anyone got any advice for F1 and F2 there? What experiences, advice?

If only it were so easy to always be ourselves mate. Itβs hard, itβs a struggle. And itβs not your fault that others donβt let you be yourself.

Can you imagine going out hoping that store staff will be put in the uncomfortable position of having to challenge him, something heβs no doubt dying to happen so he can put them down. As if these guys need that.
Was out rowing today and my friend and I took turns rowing cos itβs fun. was surprised how many comments from the shore we got about a man not rowing for his woman when she had a go. Do people really care? π€·π»ββοΈ

I had a similar episode from the NHS SBS asking for only my original P60 and not printed. The same organisation that only provides an online P60.
The estate agent seemed surprised that I was annoyed when he cancelled a house viewing an hour before I was due to see it (I booked a week ago, travelled 200 miles and stayed in a hotel)
@TerrelleGraham
I loved how Zack just showed him as a straight up hero, confident in his skills rather than some nervous quirk who didnβt know what to do like Joss did. Who cuts this footage in favour of him pushing a truck!?!
Shout out to the lovely gentlemen who offered to buy us lunch while we were filling up for fuel. Sadly we had just bought our lunch.

So Iβve been shopping for a squash racquet. So far Iβve:
Swung it in the air β
Made a swish sound β
Bopped it against my hand β
Am I missing anything?

Following on from other tweets. Patient exposes himself to female clinician. She leaves. Calls 2 mins later, not refused but sent Male clinician. In a non healthcare scenario he would be arrested. Itβs infuriating and dangerous
After a horrendous week of shifts with massive late finishes I took a solo shift providing medical cover in London cos I was promised a quietism day
My day:
@EDPractitioner
I donβt think we do say this. In fact we go out of our way to point out they wonβt be seen quicker (unless resus etc) and wonβt commit to it. Doesnβt stop said patients packing for 6 weeks and telling you weβve said stuff. Canβt speak for everyone though.
