🚨THE SEASON FINALE OF GAME CHANGER IS OUT ON
@dropout
!
🪤
@BrennanLM
,
@vornietom
, and Lou Wilson find themselves trapped in the Dropout greenroom by
@samreich
- can they escape?
🪄Find out for yourself:
If you had told me 5 years ago when we produced Season 1 of Game Changer, that Variety would one day take us seriously as an Emmy contender… I would have said “that’s so dope also can we get a lunch budget”.
Thank you

Producing is as much about growth as it is about everything else. Each production should be an evolution of what you did before. Every now and then, you level up. Pushing the boundary of possibility. Today at Dropout, we did just that. And I’m wildly excited to share the result.
Tonight’s episode of Game Changer is decidedly one of the most impressive performances I’ve been witness to. If you’re a fan of extraordinary musical theater and a fan of really good improv… well… this is for you.
@hankgreen
Reminds me of my fav MIB line:
“1500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the Earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the Earth was flat. And 15 minutes ago, you "knew" that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll "know" tomorrow.”
A (white) council member in my city just said, “I’ve never seen racism in Thousand Oaks” - a city that is 70% white namely because institutional racism keeps POC from doing so. This is a man given authority to make decisions for human beings, including the 30% who are NOT white.
Produced a comedy game show pilot a few months back called Game Changer. Created/hosted by the talented
@samreich
, and just released... it’s doing its job. This is why we do what we do.
3 years ago someone asked me if I wanted to produce a 5 episode pilot season of an idea from the “head of CollegeHumor” (who I did not know at the time). The extent of the creative was literally just an outline on Google Docs. Sure glad I said yes. Great work
@samreich
👊🏽
Considering where we started with Game Changer, it’s pretty incredible to see this show right up there with Abbott Elementary and Poker Face. So proud of our team! Thank you
@Polygon

I am heartbroken. One of the brightest delegates we’ve ever had, Courtney was the kid who’d wake up motivated to make the world better, and do so with the power of kindness. He impacted thousands and was just getting started. Thank you Courtney, the world will miss you.
So excited to have dipped my toe back in the doc world to bring the first of hopefully many to
@dropout
.
@brendanhbanks
directed excellently. Of course
@RichardHPerry
is a *perfect* subject.
Most exciting of the lead-up content is a documentary directed by
@brendanhbanks
about
@RichardHPerry
- his life, his process, and how art for a season of Dimension 20 comes together.
It launches on Dropout next week - December 20th. Here's a preview:
Yet, here's newly elected Thousand Oaks City Council member
@DrKevinMcNamee
telling us, "it's a flu, people." "You're not going to die."
I can think of 289 Ventura County families who would argue he should attend medical school before calling himself a doctor.
Dropout is the single most professional space I have ever worked in.
I was overwhelmed with kindness and was encouraged to be creative and build a unified project with everyone involved
Season 4 of Game Changer is almost here and I can say without a doubt we had zero fun shooting this show. Absolutely none. At all. AND - you can watch us have no fun starting November 1st!
Tonight one of our city council members said (in discussion of an anti hate resolution)… “if I vote no, I’ll look like a racist.” So he just DIDN’T VOTE.
I hate to be the one to break it to you Kevin, but…
Quick personal update: Proud to have recently joined the
@TOArts_
Board of Directors! My first committee assignment is our newly formed DEI task force. We need to take an honest/inward look at how we program art, who we program for, and ask how we make it truly accessible to all.
My 9 year old just called to say “Guess what guess what guess what? I’M RUNNING FOR STUDENT COUNCIL!”
And suddenly... the future is that much brighter.
You don’t realize the terror of a mass shooting until it comes home. I should be saying “I’m surprised. I can’t believe it happened here.” But I’m not, and I can. What gives me hope, is the strength I know Thousand Oaks has within. Today we pray, tomorrow we end this nightmare.
Participated in
@CityofTO
's Climate & Environmental Action Plan meeting tonight. Net takeaway: there is A LOT of work to do. 50% of our city's greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation, 42% of which from passenger cars. This is what happens in non walkable suburbs.
This is abhorrent and I’m really tired of this being the story of our community. It’s a disgrace to essential workers who literally risk their own lives to save others.
@CityofTO
leadership, your silence is deafening. You pay
@VCSOVentura
, you have a stake and a voice - use it.
Group talking about rushing a local store sans masks may have finally done it today. Call came in around 10am about 20 people trying to get into the Sprouts at Hillcrest/Lynn w/o masks. Cops responded but don’t know outcome yet. This is just down from Lynn/101 overpass.

@teacherfeather
I just registered both of my 90+ year old grandparents for vaccination appointments and it's the most excitement I've felt in weeks! Heads up, most of the week is full but Saturday currently has dozens of appointments available at the Goebel Center.
This team (minus a few) is something special. We are no longer just friends, we are now family.
Thank you
@kyleforcouncil
for running. The support today was clear, it was obvious, it was real. You are the candidate for the job!
Vote Kyle for TO City Council! 🗳️
We find it interesting that the school board candidates with signs placed illegally on public property are the same ones that try to silence student voices...We are expected to follow the rules so we should expect the same from our future representatives.

Further, and not getting enough attention, is a clear copyright issue in using the photo at all. There is no attribution; and even if there was - I highly doubt they have proper permissions from the content creator.
@ReporterDawn
Anyone is rightfully free to believe what they want... but preaching intolerance of those who are different than you, is quite simply, not acceptable.

In commercial media, we are required to blur faces (that have not been authorized for use) beyond recognition - hence the reason for blurring at all. In this photo I can easily identify two of my teenage youth and government delegates. This is blatant disregard for allowable use.
I think a relevant question to ask ANY incoming police chief (regardless of who their family is) should be…
Do you believe institutional racism exists within our local law enforcement structure?
@Bringsunshine
@dvmmum
@anonymousmommmy
@TOAcornNews
What would those relevant questions be? Does he condone the statements of his brother in law? Paris was chosen after being recommended by the sheriff and interviewed by leaders at City Hall. Not sure what his brother in law has to do with this. Or Paris stance on SB race.
OFFICIALLY AN UNCLE!!!
(Baby has no disclosed name yet and her photos have been embargoed by her parents so she’s obviously going to do just fine here in LA.)
@samreich
The way I know we have cool fans is that a not insignificant number of the ideas in this thread have also been suggested in our creative meetings. We’re all meant to be together.
Tragedy is especially tough for students. So
@millerymcayng
is partnering with our friends at
@arttrekinc
who are generously opening their space in Newbury Park for teens to come eat some food, talk to friends, and make art. Tonight 5pm-7pm. Open to all.
@KyleBJorrey
In the middle of a pandemic, the only way we get through this, is together. Supporting other strong leaders on the path to bettering our community doesn’t have to wait for filing deadlines (nor should it, imo 🤘🏽).
Big
@TOArts_
news:
@CityofTO
tasked us with distributing half a million in grant $, dedicated to emergency relief for nonprofits (of ALL sizes). The pandemic has been detrimental to the arts - I know it all too well. Looking forward to providing some help.
Back in Sacramento w/
@millerymcayng
! Our own Scott Nagatoshi (and current Youth Governor/
@NewburyParkHS
Sr.) opened the conference with some salient words.
“It’s incredible that the youth have become the front runners of civic engagement in America.”
The next time you don’t feel like researching the down ballot candidates in an off cycle election (*cough* JUDGES *cough*) remind yourself that the Rittenhouse Judge, Bruce Schroeder has won his last 6 elections, running UNOPPOSED most of the time.

@TOAcornNews
You are the kind of journalist…. storyteller… that makes a reader realize the value and importance of local news. Cheers to your next chapter and stories yet to be told!

@andangelo15
Elected officials should be mindful of whom they’re communicating with from the dais, as well as who might be sitting very near those individuals. Especially when they respond, on the record, that it was a family member - when it was not. Integrity, should not be this hard.
Last night
@millerymcayng
delegates made 300 lunches for the homeless in an hour 👊🏽. Also, they’ll be meal prepping my entire 2019 at our next meeting.
Saying goodnight to my sweet son who is finishing his last year in elementary, giving him a ton of kisses like I do every night, his eyes get really adorably wide like little kids’ still do, and looks me square in my face and says “ehem, social distancing.”
we had the rare opportunity to paint the venice art walls at our work retreat!!! unfortunately everyone else is very artistic and i am in marketing so i panicked and wrote a promo code
When people continue to question law enforcement as a racist institution - what is unfolding rn at the Capitol makes it clear. If these rioters were black/brown, we *know* the response would not look like this. [sound of news anchor wondering when law enforcement will show up]
@KyleBJorrey
His resolve to deliver critical information while obviously in extreme emotional pain, is a testament to the level of professionalism and leadership we are so so lucky to have at VCSO. There is no way to describe the gratitude I have for them.
Despite the outcome,
@ElectJoelPrice
continues to inspire grace, and fortitude. Thank you Joel - for a campaign hard fought, for showing me the ropes, and for good old fashioned friendship.
1/To my friends, family, and the thousands of Thousand Oaks residents who voted for me …
This has arguably been one of the most difficult and divided election cycles any of us have lived through.
Abstaining from a vote is unacceptable unless in genuine conflict of interest. It relieves you of the privilege you carry to have a voice, specifically the voice of the people you represent. If you’re not going to exercise that power, step aside, there’s plenty of folks who will.
I got twice as many votes in an unsuccessful run for local office than Vivek did in a statewide primary for leader of the free world. Ridin high tonight. 😂🤘🏽
Someone asked me the other day where I’d consider to be the most dangerous place I’ve been... and after really thinking about some of the wildest places I’ve worked (Middle East, Mongolia, Suriname, to name a few) — it hit me like a ton of bricks — America, is the honest answer.
@KyleBJorrey
@LVUSD
An important part of their message I’d love to see
@CVUSD
mimic: the district will continue providing free/reduced cost lunches at the middle and high schools. Further, elementary students can visit those cafeterias to receive those meals as well. Good work
@LVUSD

This morning, driving my son to the first day of school -->
ME: Have the best time in 4th grade little dude!
AIDEN: Ok.
AIDEN [staring pensively out the window]: What high school am I gonna go to?
ME: Get out of the car.
The
@RamsNFL
are true stewards of generosity, kindness, and community. Watching them practice here in Thousand Oaks throughout the season is a true privilege. Thanks to the entire organization for making our city better. That said… LET’S GO!

!
OH at a city council mtg tonight re unhoused ppl on the street: “There are very limited actions law enforcement can take.” The thing is ‘law enforcement’ shouldn’t have to take ANY action. It’s not their job! The answer to homelessness is homes. Is it that simple.. no. But kinda.
This feels relevant...
