Stingers use infrared homing which means it is fire and forget, but the homing can be tricked by chaff and flares. Starstreak uses beam riding SACLOS which means the command unit has to follow the target and send a beam at the target which the missile rides.

Russia had the launch codes but the nukes were disassembled. You don’t think in 20+ years the fissile material and detonators wouldn’t be able to be transplanted on to short range missiles by Ukraine? For Ukraine to deter Russia it doesn’t need nuke ICBM’s, just modified SCUDs

ELBIT SPEAR looks pretty sweet. 45 seconds to shoot 6x 120mm mortar rnds and scoot. With GPS or SAL guided rounds could actually just keep it aimed in general direction of target and shoot scoot every few seconds. On the back of a toyota hilux. Mortar Technical hah

It’s bc Italy has insane socials = hidden tax. That 59k EUR requires Deloitte to pay another ~45% btwn INPS (24%), payroll tax (15%), & severance (7.5%). So gross wage is low. Then on top worker pays 40%. So for 100k EUR, worker ends up w 44k EUR & state w 56k EUR. Insanity!

Look how effective the TB2 are. That thing has a gasoline engine for christ’s sake and flies at 70 kts. West is overthinking, it has 300x L-39 flying which the Ukrainian pilots first trained on. True only 2-4x hardpoints but it has 2x the payload of a TB2 and flies 6x as fast.

Flares don’t do anything as it simply follows the beam guidance from the command unit. One reason the missile has to be fast is the shooter can’t run away after firing as the command unit has to send the beam at the target. So at Mach 4.0 it takes 5 seconds to hit its max range.

West has 300x L-39, some with eastern bloc fire controls, some w western fire control. All ukrainian pilots can fly it. We claimed couldn’t send Mig-29 since being used by poland & bulgaria for air defense. What’s the excuse for not sending these cheaper-than-a-javelin aircraft

Does not apply in US colonies..err ..territories, they get to exempt income sourced there which includes capital gains. This has long been US economic policy because the territories are poor AF and it’s how they get those with capital to relocate there.

European parks are marginally nicer, the problem with public transit is the pleasantness is determined by the bottom quintile which is steadily dropping in terms of self control and behavior in France and certain other countries. Only in Europe have I had multiple (unsuccessful)
