@SassyE If you have access to them, I would consider pairing licorice with some honey suckle and chrysanthemum, especially if there are upper/face region heat signs, such as redness, swelling, itchiness, bleeding, etc. They both clear heat, and reduce toxicity

@anglescore @The_Wub_ it’s absolutely effective for viruses, bacteria, and certain types of cancer. I’m not saying use it exclusively nor that it will treat everything. It’s pretty hard to get antivirals from the pharmacy, but antiviral herbs are quite accessible, and if used correctly, very effective

@cjmaddison From my understanding, western biomedicine is quite lacking in the antiviral department. We’ve got loads of antibiotics, but very few antivirals and antifungals. Remdesivir is the antiviral I hear most about, and it’s not that effective against COVID from what I understand

@CapobiaNB I think, as far as western herbs go, Nettle is a liver blood tonic, and liver blood nourishes the eyes, nails, tendons, and hairs. Kidney essence nourishes the marrow, ears, and head hair as well. My two fave liver/kidney tonics are he shou wu and shu di huang.

@guapunzel @margieladron @breegv14 @yurfaaaav @naomi_obadeyi the CDC doesn't recommend it because elderberry and echinacea's mechanism of action is a release of cytokine immune cells which is what the virus does too. So it can actually make folx in a lot worse shape than help. astralagus, rhodiola, reishi, are better for covid
