My laptop must be long gone by now, but what I’m looking for is an acknowledgement of negligence from the organization that, even after being aware of robberies, they failed to take steps to prevent them. I wish no one has to undergo a similar experience ever again.

Hearing the National anthem was, without a doubt, one of the best moments of my life❤️

Later on the 22nd evening, there was another robbery at Sunway San Jorge in Mounika Akshaya’s apartment.More details about this are here ().
Later in the night, the most scary and third break-in (within 5 days) happened in the Sunway Arizona Apartment.
My depressing robbery story at Sunway Sitges Chess Festival 2023, Spain. I request the authorities to kindly take action in this since I am not the only player who suffered from this event.

My AirPods can still be tracked and have been in the same location for 4 days. I told the police and organizers the same (they were in the same place for 2 days at that time). We could have gotten information about the robbers or some leads, but my plight was simply dismissed.

My roommate had to withdraw from the tournament as he had to go to the Indian Embassy in Barcelona to apply for an emergency certificate for his travel back home (the organizers assisted him with this travel).

The person accompanying us to the police station translated our statements for the police, as we don’t speak or understand Spanish. But our reports state that we left the windows open; we only got to know about this mistake 1-2 days later.

On December 19, after entering our apartment from the venue at around 9 p.m., we found out someone had broken into our apartment and rummaged through our belongings. Both of our laptops, other valuables, and my roommate’s passport had been stolen.

We immediately contacted the hotel and organizers, and they took us to the police station to file our report. We narrated what happened and clearly mentioned that the windows of the living room and bedroom were closed. I didn’t remember if the living room balcony window was

Between 2:30 and 6:30 AM, robbers entered the apartment, the bedroom where the girls were sleeping, and stole their laptop, mobile phone, and other belongings. Fortunately, the girls were unharmed and safe; otherwise, things could have turned out a lot worse.

Even after repeated robberies, no preventative measures were added, nor was security increased. They have kept 1 security guard for 5–6 apartments located 0.5–1.5 km apart from each other.
