This Independence Day, 15th of August, we at ChessBase India, are launching the Temple of Chess. It is a space that we have opened in Mumbai for chess lovers and chess enthusiasts. It is open for all. Temple of Chess has over 1000 books that can be used by players. The space isn't huge but it is brimming with devotion towards chess! 😀 We want to thank Deodutta Modak, who donated this amazing collection of books. It took his entire lifetime for him to collect these books, and he has now donated them to us with the hope that it would help the entire chess community. It has some of the best books related to topics of openings, middlegames, endgames, tactics, positional play and much more. A big shout out GM Vidit Gujrathi, one of India's top players who inaugurated this place on 14th of August and GM Harshit Raja, who visited us for a few hours. Our aim with this endeavour is to create the right space for the chess community. A space where not just chess learning flourishes but where people come and experience the beauty of chess and humanity. A place filled with abundance. Vishy Anand became an amazing champion because of the Tal Chess Club where he could simply go and play blitz games. Great chess lovers like Dakshinamoorthy (lovingly called the Thatha) opened their homes for chess players to come and practice. The Temple of Chess is founded on similar lines.
