A lot of them refinanced a house they bought 3+ years ago. And with 8.5% inflation, their real interest rate is -6%. They're getting paid every year to own the house.
A lot of folks out there are paying $950/mo for an $800k house. They're very lucky.

Because it was always delusion to think someone could understand and rewrite a sufficient complex codebase by themselves in ~weeks.
Maybe if he rebuilt it from scratch but he probably doesn’t have the domain expertise to do that quickly. And that might be a fools errand.

I've always assumed it's the forced payment. If everybody was forced to make a mortgage-sized payment into the s&p every month, they'd do very well.

Credit cards have their own policies that the restaurant agrees to. I agree that they don't have much choice but if you want to accept Visa, for eg, you have to also accept Visa's terms and conditions.

For eg: If you live with 5 other ppl, and they stay home and are broke, and you get a job and offer to pay for 50% of the house, you don't owe them more. You're not hurting them by getting a job.
