I walk around lake Merritt 3-5 times a week. I also volunteer to hand out food. The people in tents are kind people. There’s not many. The lake is beautiful and totally family friendly. Come over and walk around it yourself. It’s safe and gorgeous. Pelicans. Fairyland. Picnics.
Lake Merritt needs to be restored to children, families, & seniors. There shouldn’t be s single tent allowed anywhere in Lakeside Park or on the perimeter of Lake Merritt. No encampments, no drugs, no mentally ill people fending for themselves. Return Lake Merritt to the people.
