But I couldn't get interested in a franchise-based tourno where the players were up for auction every year, nor identify with a team, even it was based in SOM. It's entirely cultural, and perhaps generational. No right or wrong.

I didn't watch, knew nothing about it, not interested. Don't know what they could do more: I love T20, and Payne, Billings, Curran, Warner, Hales -great to watch. There's just no affinity, which is why the success of the IPL baffles me. But, no disrespect at all to fans of it.
