When travelling around Austria & Slovakia, I was struck that on not a single occasion I encountered someone playing music without headphones on a train. The only time I saw someone get ticked on a train was a member of staff admonishing someone for having their feet on the seat.
This happened to me on train this morning. I politely asked a man in his 50s to turn his music down. His response: “it’s not even loud & you’re not in the quiet coach.” I calmly remarked that it was still rather antisocial, to which he just shrugged. No other passenger spoke up.

@Cricket1973J England are not a better ODI side than NZ. They're not even particularly close. None of the last CWC, World Rankings or recent results suggest England are better.

@SridipP @jfwduffield @Scott_Button12 Yes. Both played the majority of their careers in the most batting friendly period in ODI history. Plunkett was the highest middle over wicket taker in a cycle where bowling teams frequently lost control in that period. Woakes' economy under 5.5 is also exceptional given that.

@jfwduffield @Scott_Button12 England bowled exceptionally well in the 2019 CWC & in Woakes & Plunkett had two of the finest bowlers of that generation. England's bowlers were consistently successful in stopping other team's batsmen do what ours did to them. Think that's an underrated aspect of Morgan's side.

@Scott_Button12 I totally agree. Bayliss & Morgan understood ODI cricket. Top order hundreds win you games in the format, England used to make a lot of them.

@QwentyJ @kanyewest This has nicely split Twitter between those whose first reaction was Van Dijk & those whose was the Augustan Roman poet.

@Boskeyswag Probably very bad. Although in T20Is England's record v Australia would be better. I think the only white ball bilateral series England have won against India in the last decade was the 2018 series.

@nickfshort I'll let you know when I'm next down. Sadly (or not given how last season went) Surrey are only coming to Taunton in the Blast & not the Championship this year. I'm sure I'll find an excuse to make the trip though!

@cas_rasen Yeah the Scotland game is the one I've marked for a while. No disgrace in losing to Ireland or France. Would be poor to lose to either Italy or Wales. Will all hinge on ending Scotland's four year Calcutta Cup winning streak.

@QwentyJ Think a lot of the Reform surge is genuine, but it's hard for insurgent parties to maintain momentum. Farage parties are good at the air war in the media but less good at the ground war i.e. activist infrastructure to turn support into seats, which the Lib Dems now excel at.
