oi Bruno, sim, sei o motivo.
One of the greatest joys of our job is to see the scientific evolution of students over time. Congrats
@tamrodrigues1

This is how happy I am to have received the USP Outstanding Thesis award yesterday. It is very gratifying to have the opportunity to carry out great science in Brazil. Thank you

Very interesting finding. I wonder whether LDH release is indeed a consequence of inflams. activation and pyroptosis. Alternative hypothesis are:
1) necroptosis could be taking place instead of pyroptosis. Then, RIPK3/MLKL, rather than NLRP3 inhibitors, would be more appropriate.
This accomplishment - alongside with others - were only possible due to the people I met during my short career so far. Special thanks to my mentors

2) Couldn't LDH release be a consequence of the lytic cell death induced by the virus? in our recent paper about MAYV and NLRP3, we've shown that IL-1b release occurs in a NLRP3-dependent manner, but LDH release is totally Casp1-independent.
This is the worst thing that’s happened to US science and innovation. Banning

Wonderful study revealing pyroptosis induction in a caspase-independent manner. Is this the first work describing such phenomenon? I think so.

Soroconversao nao e igual a protecao.

The question that I tried to answer during my PhD is whether the presence of an endosymbiontic dsRNA virus (Leishmania RNA virus, LRV) in some Leishmania species (braziliensis complex, mainly) is capable of altering the course of the innate immune response against the parasite.

Besides, we point out to the "beautiful" and sophisticated degree of the host-pathogen interaction observed between Leish, LRV and mammalian cells. Have a look at the main paper below .
Curiously, some founder cells are able to resist replacement for the whole 6 months, allowing them to make highly mutated, very-high-affinty antibodies. FM showed that these later clones likely still export memory B cells that can be recalled efficiently by boosting.
