Pleased to be linking with built heritage champion
@PaulJSweeney
on this with

officers and key partners, thanks to all who have got in touch to support our call for frontages, stonework and features to be saved as much as possible.
It's frustrating to see a further roof collapse at the Sir John Maxwell School in Pollokshaws (1907, John Hamilton) has brought down part of the east facade. The main north and south frontages remain intact, however, and I'm seeking an urgent meeting to find a way to retain them.
In 2021, a roof collapse at Haghill School (1904, Walker) led to emergency demolition. In that case, an agreement was reached to carefully hand-dismantle the north facade for future reinstatement as housing. The same could be done with the north facade at Sir John Maxwell School.

Thanks to all tonight getting Cathcart and District Community Council up and running for Merrylee, Muirend and the wider Cathcart area. Please get involved to represent your community - and hold Councillors like me and the Council to account.
Thinking fondly of the late Iris Gibson and her dedication to her constituents and city. Sitting side-by-side Feb 2007 at Community Health & Care Partnership which I convened, where Iris was always so committed and positive about improving vital services for all our communities.

I've brought my campaign to save Whiteinch Burgh Hall to Full Council.
Given the shocking state of the hall after years of underinvestment, I am calling on Glasgow City Council to inspect all council-owned heritage buildings with a full safety report.
Can someone please find the £155 million for Scotland's 32 councils? Received by the Scottish Government from the UK Government to help local councils through the pandemic. Asking for a friend.
I've laid the Scot Gov's Budget revision, showing investment of £4bn in responding to Covid. That includes £620m for the NHS, £2.3bn in business funding and £350m community support. We've responded quickly, and our financial support exceeds the UK Gov funding we've received. /1
Special day remembering Jimmy Mutter in packed Blessed John Duns Scotus. He made a lasting impact over decades at the heart of Gorbals regeneration, as Councillor & community activist (pic 2011 Laurieston housing launch with Maureen Kyle, Dot Denham, Urban Union's Janice Belshaw)
