“Hi, I’m
@RoryStewartUK
& I’m standing for leader of the Conservatives. I am currently standing on Mount Everest & would love to hear your views. There is a small queue already, but don't let that put you off. It's a mere £50,000 nowadays for a trip to see me here"

@BritainElects
Tories lose overall control of Worthing. The South coast from Bournemouth to Hastings continues its very long-term shift from a place to settle for British Empire staff retirees to the London Riviera!😀

Proper traditional chaos though....caused by the opposition seizing the moment. None of this modern chaos stuff caused by a government with a majority of 80 self-destructing before our very eyes

A classic of not knowing electoral geography. Probably not helpful for defending the Shipley and Keighley seats (2 out of 5 seats) within the Metropolitan Borough Of Bradford
@AaronBastani
Absolutely correct. The bigger reality for all of us is the Tories have increased their vote share consistently for 6 consecutive elections. The question, painful as it is to ask, is why do more voters seem to like the Tory Party nowadays?

Basically the world is now relying on Rupert Murdoch and his team to conduct a careful hostage negotiation with a narcissistic infant with the nuclear codes to leave the White House.

@GuidoFawkes
I imagine you will still be arguing over this issue in 2030 far more than demanding to know why the 40 imaginary hospitals, 2 imaginary bridges and 1 imaginary airport have not been built! 😀
@piersmorgan
@RMTunion
It’s a puppet and not real!! 😀You also do not seem to understand the concept of self-deprecation and a joke between mates that most of the public would have no problem at all with understanding!!
Exciting news for tourists when they return to London. A brand new British tradition now seems to be the Changing of the Guard at the Churchill Statue!:)
@Coldwar_Steve
Maybe you should next do a Boris as Richard II saying "Never mind the Black Death, we should all be pleased Peasant Agricultural Wages will rise with around 50% less people alive"!!
@OprosUK
@susanp_80
@JLPartnersPolls
Perhaps a significant shift? Starting to wonder how Brexit polling may shift too as a "Europe banding together" narrative might develop as it did in the Cold War which is why the Common Market was not just seen in trade terms then
@Nigel_Farage
You are going to get a big surprise when you find out where Cochineal extract, candy glaze, resin glaze, natural food glaze, confectioner's glaze, confectioner's resin, Lac resin, Lacca, or gum lac come from?😀Also dried figs may give you a surprise too!😀

Bearing in mind other parties were completing nom forms in 2nd week of March a cynic might think its a good way 2 both save a lot of money & have a narrative of the "deep state stopped u" whilst getting publicity & still standing more cheaply 4 London Assembly. Surely not though?
Thank you to

She really won reselection about 4 branch meetings ago in view of how affiliates under whichever leader tend to vote to re-select. What is now forgotten is her and fellow Coventry MP Taiwo Owatemi were speculated for deselection and neither happened
@nexta_tv
But how will they frame a short-termist regional "special operation" as now needing a country-wide crackdown. That will be seen as a failure and so adds to the potential tipping point

One NEC member say our membership at end July was 510k and another said it was 530k. My own usually accurate estimate based on tracking some CLP trends over a decade was 520k. It looks like we have risen perhaps by 10k in August due to media coverage so prob in 520k-540k mark

@ABridgen
It might come as a bit of a surprise to you that your Party has spent 3 centuries ensuring the super wealthy elite are still called the super wealthy elite nowadays. Not sure what Tory plans are for Big Pharma, but it is very likely to remain "Big" & shareholder beneficial
@lewis_goodall
I suspect a lot of Tory MPs have realised losing their seat in 1997 like a Portillo was just a few repeated TV clips then, whereas nowadays it will become a multi-repeated social media meme for months so less will want to go through that & will stand down instead
@simongerman600
I think you mean the other way round. It's reflected in their politics (& possibly their politics impacts on level of belief) with Communists (CDU) strong in the rural Alentejo in the south & their principal right-wing party (PSD) strong in the politically conservative North
@richardwadams
@robfordmancs
I first wrote a paper on the "Boris, he's a bit of a larf" phenomenon in 2008 after he won the Mayoral election. It would be fascinating to segment the type of voter who holds this type of view

We have seized the Treasury Building and the BBC. The PM is holed up in COBRA but that will inevitably fall soon. We expect that

Why don't you tell us all what "working practices" you actually want to see reformed then rather than just moan about it? Or is this just 1979 kneejerkism in an era when TU are twice as popular as then?
@josiahmortimer
MPs take an oath and follow a standards regime so on data handling “reasonableness” it’s no different to civil servants doing a handover. In any live case she cd also simply email everyone left on her books and say “do you want your case handed over”?

@duncanrobinson
This is all because MPs don't want to move out from the seat of power for any period. Why don't they just take over QE11 conf centre and maybe also hire Westminster Central Hall 2 for a few years. There are also likely to be pretty empty office blocks in Victoria St too
@GuidoFawkes
You seem to have come up with 267 words just to avoid saying the equally appalling 3 words you seem to really mean: "pull yourself together". This really is not politics, goes against all modern mental health advice and you should be ashamed of what you have written here!

The implications of "Danczuk precedent" is that the decision on a sitting MP candidate is a matter for NEC not PLP, thus a PLP suspended candidate cd stand as Lab candidate & remain suspended by PLP after. 2 separate disciplinary processes. Not sure PLP & NEC have thought thru
