@HeavenlyGrandpa I’ve had a few friends like this and ultimately this happens because they over invest in people who don’t really care because they want to prove themselves. At the same time they’re complacent about people who do care and don’t anticipate being dropped by them too.

@Brieyonce The casting director said she knew she made the right choice casting Alicia because when she took her out for dinner pre-filming, Alicia ordered a milkshake, and instead of picking up the glass she just lowered her face towards the straw.

@crystalxduan I also think it’s about how close you are. If you can’t meet casually then you’re not close enough to properly integrate into each others everyday lives. Accepting that will save you the 25 brunches a year.

@txadel_ Tbh it is sometimes better for people to stay in denial when their perception is so far removed from reality. Snapping out of it would almost definitely set off a really bad breakdown unfortunately 😬.

@ShansDaBoss It’s not really! Most people married for love, they didn’t really have other incentives. For wealthier people it was more political or strategic or more about family friends, business and property. But most people in history weren’t wealthy.

@mabintou I’ve noticed that despite having access to the science and so many quality products, people don’t have the patience to do in-depth research about skincare. They don’t know about ingredients lists, concentrations, optimal pH etc, so they’re not even layering serums correctly.

@T_nsofor There’s also a bit of jealousy there imo. Because she got into Julliard but what has he accomplished besides getting a position in his father’s company. The girlies need to be careful with some of those generational wealth boys who will never outshine their fathers.

@sunnydaejones Emotional immaturity is so tough bc you see in real time people you grow up with who get stuck in their late teens. Inability to understand other people’s motives, to think into the future, to find reliable sources of confidence, to self advocate…it can literally ruin your life.

@cowboypraxis “All I did was xyz, it’s not that bad and I apologised anyway” and “they overreacted and they’re paranoid” and “this happened completely out of the blue” and “they didn’t TELL me though”…The entitlement and the dismissal.

@KW33NSOHI9H It always strikes me at so colonial that the wig is still a feature of African legal systems. This picture especially. Like that’s 18th century white man attire 💀.

@notthatpoppy When Spencer in Pretty Little Liars had an interview at Oxford University and before she steps into the office, she takes a deep breath and looks out of the window which is a view of London including Big Ben.

@badnands Am I the only one who doesn’t think it’s that bad. He really had total trust in her while he was lying and cheating? He has $10 to his name and fully trusted her? I also don’t think it’s funny, but I think he had it coming.

@taeseru One of my core beliefs about men is that they want to impress us, so if a guy knows that a girl is aware that he’s not impressive but she stays, then he just feels like a loser. He can’t even lie to himself that he’s finessing her because she perceives him accurately.

@E5THR I’ve literally never in my life seen a male centred woman have a good life. I don’t think people understand how much it can take away from your life - so many opportunities, chances to make friends and bond with people (potentially even your own kids) all gone.

@sourhoestarter His first girlfriend was Madonna’s daughter Lourde. His next big relationship was Lily Rose Depp. He has always dated pretty nepo babies, I don’t know why him and Kylie is so hard for people to process. It feels a little like something that rhymes with schmishogyny.

@FromAerin This is a very contemporary brand of selfishness and they’re trying to make it sound sensible. Like please just permanently exit your friend’s life if you think this way😭 Maybe some people take advantage of gift registries but it’s usually really practical stuff.

@vlvtrse_ It’s literally entitlement too, because people who aren’t even likeable or haven’t put in any effort to get to know you will lose their mind if you’re not immediately open to them 😵💫.

@naledimashishi The thing is it’s not that fiction does this to you. It’s just that people with lower levels of empathy don’t enjoy fiction. I definitely notice that. They either get over involved and sort of…imagine they ARE the character. Or they don’t like fiction / fantasy at all.

@crwnjr Seems like a trafficking situation :/ there’s always trafficking near smaller regional pageants and small scale reality TV auditioning and modelling casting because they know the girls are more likely to be in need of money or hoping for a big break.

@ruelfaa This isn’t misogyny. There are direct links between femininity content, conceptualising men as providers of money, financial dependency and falling into predatory or abusive relationships. Most women who live that way are actually experiencing coercive control or abuse.

@taeseru Also very telling that Teyana ended up having to divorce him because of emotional and mental abuse. Copycat behaviour is usually a sign that the guy is somehow triangulating other people 🚩.

@yumcoconutmilk That’s kind of why I hate him more. He used Natasha for the social convenience and Carrie for the actual intimacy, and ultimately embarrassed them both because he couldn’t accept he was attracted to the “wrong” type of person.

@ytbouthataction Which is cringe because I feel like middle class brits with regular corporate jobs underestimate how far away they are from the Lagos elites. If you’re not in that circle in London you’re not going to be in that circle in Lagos either.

@prinnylee Declaring that you don’t want a relationship as a woman is probably one of the most risky things you can do because they know for certain that they have no leverage and nothing to lose. You’re either about to be in grave danger OR wined and dined, you just don’t know.
3
15
254
@marsisbored I also think that this guy is clearly a sociopath. It’s the “we have nothing in common” because no one stays for 3 years believing that they have nothing in common. But also…guys who see a future with you won’t literally say “I see a future with you”.

@suchahippieeee Girlie…instead of judging the woman, think about why he doesn’t know how to calm his own child down. She probably asked him to take the baby for a few hours. He’s obviously not used to it. However I do think there’s a place for that kind of thing and it’s not on a flight.

@tinashehive Casually sabotaging another person’s education, income, or friendships and social life is abuse - whether it’s well thought out or not. Poor girl is saying “aww my mother is so cute” NO she wants you to end up just like her. Clock it.

@omoriafterdark @badnands I mean you can argue about the technicalities but he was lying to her, he was undocumented, and had $10 to his name and he still got in the car with her. Like I said I don’t think it’s funny but he was clearly really arrogant and entitled.

@StaceTheKing There is 100% a cowardice and uselessness problem going around. I genuinely think most people would watch a person on fire and be like “omg awkward” and look at their phone. At least in London. Like the actual quality of ppl right now is so jarring.

@UmmmmNo8 @ShansDaBoss Honestly until about 100 years ago 75% of humans were working class or literally peasants. Social mobility wasn’t going to happen for most people. It’s one of those myths that exist because more privileged people tend to be the “voice” of history.

@meechieSMT @GeauxGabrielle I’m begging people to learn how the justice system works. The outcome of court decisions doesn’t change the reality of what happened. You can easily get away with any crime if you have a good lawyer unfortunately.

@laetitiakafunda I can’t find words to explain how irritating it is when men really believe that your routine activities like going to the gym or frequenting your local cafe alone are an opportunity for them. Some of them even think that we actively do it FOR them 🤦🏾♀️and then she’s encouraging it.

@__HardHeaded Doing things by yourself. Idk I always had to do things by myself growing up. Not consulting 20 people, not being scared of what 200 people think. Actually executing things that you chose to do from start to finish of your own free will.
4
22
190
@ChantayyJayy The fact that people even think they need to take time off dating to learn a skill. The problem is the fact that you see dating as an alternative to skills or hobbies. If someone enters your life and you stop doing what you love they’re probably not a good person.

@pacino_girl I love that actually she sings about how men struggle to understand that not everything about you a consequence of men. She sings about her strained relationship with her mother, about men who don’t or can’t listen, how the fun eras of her life passed by, and being a celebrity.

@yasisalek It’s realising how much time has passed omg. The film quality is fuzzy, there’s a girl boogying in a pencil skirt, the 2000s weren’t 10 years ago, and they don’t make ppl who can move like that anymore 🥲.

@thereal__isabel She’s one of those weird ones because why is she talking about “I don’t have a fancy job but I have KIDS”. Hmm okay. Your friend clearly doesn’t want that so unfortunately you’re still not in a better position than her. But nice try.

@KeebaFugu @jinxbrained @ihcarama @bigsexybrando Lol it’s kinda true. Checking the boxes for conventional attractiveness, but being average in the sense that they blend into a crowd and they’re forgettable. If they’re also average in terms of talent, acheivement, or personality it often is a cocktail for deranged entitlement.

@CoraCHarrington This is her being familiar or familial, given that his family didn’t show up and declined to comment. He was estranged from them, their wealth was built in healthcare. His family story will probably be key to the defence narrative. She’s posing as a mother-sister figure.

@CarolinaIsabelF @Savannah_FDS It’s actually very evil because they’ll pick a girl who’s 22 to 25 and usually immature, inexperienced, and has no idea what they want from life. It’s almost never a girl who has a confident vision of her future :/ they know what they’re doing.

@thelordbaeIish @onbilayy This is what I want to know. Is there actually a personality inside that they are suppressing? Or do they just choose different people to copy one at a time? Do they not notice that other people can see what they’re doing too?.
