Thatcher didn’t take all milk allowance. Children weren’t suffering Rickets in the 70s any longer from lack Vit D and milk was plentiful and cheap to buy. A 1/3 pint a day is what a child needs daily and that could affordably be provided by parents.

I have elderly clients who live alone. I see them weekly and have a good old chinwag with them, I learn a lot. During lockdown I called them weekly, every one. Not a quick hello but for a meaningful chat. They have much wisdom.
