Judges sitting in the Family Court have to decide what is in the best interests of a child every day of the week. Either because the parents can’t agree or because they may not be acting in the best interests of the child. That is neither morally offensive nor nonsensical.
If you're a parent, the court is saying to you a judge knows better than you what is in the interest of your child.
That's a morally offensive and nonsensical position for the law to find itself in. We intend to challenge it.

The idea ‘fat cat lawyers’ exploit the legal aid fund is complete and utter nonsense. In my field of family law, legal aid is effectively now only available in public law cases. The lawyers who undertake this work are dedicated and hard working and (very) modestly remunerated.
Mininters are reviewing the £1.7bn legal aid budget. It’s exploited by fat cat lawyers and incompetent quango the Legal Aid Agency
