I would aim hazard a guess that Kier Starmer is to blame. After 2019 I chucked my Labour membership in, and would now vote Green. Starmer turned a LOT of Labour members and supporters off. The Greens share a lot of values that Corbyn promoted.

What people fail to realise is that higher speeds in built up areas merely get you from junction to junction faster, where you have to stop and wait for longer.
Slower speeds keep a constant traffic rolling. The same is supposed to work on Smart Motorways speed control.
