Coasters like this is one of the things that makes Universal seem lesser than Disney. Totally exposed, outdoor coasters feel more suited for amusement parks than they do for theme parks. Either build it alongside l a structure, like the Matterhorn, or put it indoor, like Space.
The “Celestial Spin” element on the new Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe looks wild. Imagine this at night? Wow.

Why do people love the idea of replacing classics at a resort that was made with acres of expansion space. We should be pushing Disney to use unbuild land for Tangled, not pushing them to spend millions of $$ to replace a classic and keep capacity the same.
This is probably a cold take at this point but I don’t think this ride is sacred. Basically every other iteration of it around the world is better, and the footprint is so large. Would not mind if they tore it down to build a new section of Fantasyland, or rethemed to Tangled.
WDW is a resort with practically infinite space. I do not get why people want to destroy classics for new rides when there is ample space to put new rides, which would add capacity to parks that desperately need it.
Disney has had a major problem of bleeding out talent under the leadership of Bob Iger. Joe Rhode, James Gunn, and John Lasseter are the best examples of this.
@spongearchive_
It sounds like Tom Kenny is getting up there in age. I do not blame him of course, and his voice is not like Marge's where its hard to listen to, but it is getting more noticeable. SpongeBob's voice seems like one that would be hard to replicate, but eventually Kenny will retire.

@CultureCrave
Opening day specifically. It should be noted that Mario’s opening day was on Wednesday, while FNAF’s was on Friday. Had Mario opened on Friday, it likely would have made more. This is an impressive showing from FNAF, and thanks to its low budget, it should make a good profit.
Bringing up the "it's made for kids" argument is admitting defeat. Anyone who subscribes to it clearly has no understanding of what made these parks popular in the first place.
@baskett1946
You ever stop to think that you’re not the target audience for this ride?
Not sure why so many middle aged men are getting so upset about a ride themed for nine year old girls.
@ThemeParkShark
@USJ_Official
Label me impressed. I did not expect things like the coins and items to move, but the fact that they went the extra mile and did that is amazing. In fact, hiding the sticks that they are on may be why they built this land to be on multiple levels.
I should make clear, Epic Universe looks good. The theming of the lands looks quality. What I said about coasters is a single point that I’m not a major fan of, but it does not ruin the park. For what Celestial Park is going for, it may fit better than I think.
The new CEO cannot be another one handpicked by Iger and those who continually extend his contract. The next CEO needs to be someone who actually values and respects Disney’s past and future, not just his own acquired and made IP.
The current leadership clearly hates Walt Disney and his legacy. He loved the American frontier, but Bob Iger would rather appeal to the weirdos who choose to find offense in everything they can as opposed to those who actually respect Disney’s legacy. Such a shame.
If you're going to MK soon, it may be your last chance to check out the Fort on Tom Sawyer's, and perhaps Tom Sawyer's in general, allegedly of course.
@NCucerzan
This looks great, but replacing Dinosaur is not the move. Even if we ignore whether Zootopia belongs in Animal Kingdom, the park could definitely benefit from a capacity increase. Spending millions of dollars just to keep capacity stagnant is a weird choice.
“Tech is super outdated,” you mean like most of the classic rides at the parks? I wonder how the Haunted Mansion fans would feel if they rethemed it to Encanto, and the reason given was “well, the tech was outdated.”
@mirandaiiisms
Dawg it blows my mind that people are defending an attraction where half the shit was broken, tech was super outdated, and besides the racist part Song of the South is just a whack ass gimmick that no one relates except boomers and their super Christian offspring.
No, retheming SM was not necessary just because a select few individuals decided that singing animals were offensive. Nothing about the ride could be deemed offensive, unless of course you are actively trying to find offense in places where there is none.
@MarioEmmet
Usually you can count on Disney films to at least have good music, even if the film itself isn’t the best. Wish failing so hard in that metric may be the most disappointing part of it. Like, I don’t hate these songs, but I expect so much better from Disney.
@AniTweetCity
I remember what the context is for this and I hate that. This clip is one of those that is so much funnier if you have no idea what’s going on.
@mirandaiiisms
Put it in DCA, a park that does not have any trackless dark rides and has already completely compromised on the park theme, rather than DAK, a park that still has its theme in tact.
When it was announced that they’d be gutting Splash Mountain, we had 4 long years of shills mindlessly defending Disney and acting like those against this were racist, even though SM was anything but. Regardless, it really did show them that they cooked do whatever they wanted.
I honestly think the re-theme of Splash Mountain got them comfortable with the idea that they really could do anything they want and get away with it (from a revenue perspective). Not sure how that will pan out over the years, but I think that project opened this door.
As someone who’s not big on dinosaurs, Disney should be doubling down on them. Keep and refurbish Dinosaur, and transform the cheap carnival into something else dinosaur themed. Add IP into the park with Lion King and Jungle Book at other, unbuilt areas of the park.
Rare and Newly Discovered Video gives us the closest look at Dinosaur’s Animatronics EVER!!! The focus is on the Sauropod and the Styracasaurus. Huge thanks to
@Rocky_ioa
for this great find. Prepare to be amazed at these 1990’s Large Scale Animatronics!
Splash Mountain, without hesitation. GMR was good and should have stayed, but Splash Mountain was an all time classic that you thought of when you thought of Disney, possibly only behind Pirates and Mansion in that regard.
The fact that the option was either a worse show with forced IP or the show being destroyed really goes to show how far Disney has fallen under Bob Iger. The man clearly has disdain for the company’s past.
@DreMeMoTo
We need more Pixar. It seems Pixar is much more alright with letting Square do interesting things with their major properties. If we get Star Wars, I’m concerned about that just being one of the films, but now Sora is there.
@DrewDisneyDude
Probably the new show at Hollywood Studios. That said, it would be easy to just reuse old dialogue, so if that’s the case, it’s cool that they brought her in to do new recordings.
It should be noted that this is $142 million that they removed from already announced projects, such as the EPCOT overhaul, and put towards ruining a beloved classic simply to appease those who deliberately chose to find offense in singing animals.
$142 million. It's just an approximation, but this would be almost the same amount of money it costed Disney to build the original ride in Disneyland ($75 million, $162 million with inflation).
@MickeyViews
@SirBrayden
Much of what they've shown is good. The issue is that it's not as good as Splash. Had this been its own ride, this would have been a great addition. As it stands, they spend millions of $ to make a replacement for Splash that, while good, is not as good as what came before.
@disneyglimpses
I’m largely ok with Cars, but going over Rivers of America is my issue. I rarely went to Tom Sawyer Island, but having the RoA there added to the atmosphere immensely. They have land outside the berm they should be using, similar to GE at DL.
@BrerOswald
Remember, you’re not allowed to criticize Disney, because replacing the ride that adapts the non-controversial part of a film that itself adapts African American folklore with a ride based off a movie with a white story that uses black characters means Disney is anti-racist.
@MelonieMac
While losing Henry Cavill is unfortunate, calling for the firing of one of the most talented people to work on superhero films is quite foolish, as James Gunn has put out some fantastic work, including some of the best material to come out of the MCU.
Even though Walt Disney had passed away before the creation of Splash Mountain, it was clear that he loved the stories of Brer Rabbit. The Walt Disney Company wanting to now completely forget those stories is an awful move on their part.

@gakamsky
@ReviewsPossum
Yep. At the end of the first film, they go back through the portal back to the UK, which turns them back into kids, as it brought them back to exactly the last time they went through it. Worst of all, the portal won’t open to get back to Narnia if they’re looking for it.
Some are disappointed, but so long as it’s based on the 1994 classic, this is better than a smaller GE clone. The Lion King is one of the best films to come out of Disney, including the acquisitions. To give Paris the honor of having the first ride based on it is very cool.
@MyNintendoNews
Probably saving it for a gap, as they often do with stuff like this. I would not be shocked to see it announced in June, though Nintendo has surprised us before. Sounds like Switch 2 will get a BOTW remaster/port, so they probably aren't saving this for that.
@BrerOswald
Answer: Because Iger told them Br’er Rabbit and friends were bad, so they blindly decided he was right without taking any time to actually think about it.
@CrashyNews
From my understanding, M is basically T in Australia, so while not as bad as it may look initially, a T rated Crash game is pretty strange, especially if it’s because of mature themes.
In the past 5 years, Dreamworks has had 7 sequels against 4 originals from their main studio. In the same time period. Disney and Pixar have had 3 sequels, and that’s if we even count Lightyear as a sequel, against 7 originals from their main studios.
@BrerOswald
When looking at what’s coming out of Tokyo Disney, I don’t know if I can blame Imagineering for all of the problems plaguing the U.S. parks. Just look at the recently opened Fantasy Springs, which looks like such a good addition to Tokyo. The issue is those above Imagineering.
@disneyglimpses
@BlankSamuel
People should still express their frustration about that though. It’s a long list of free things that Disney has taken away while increasing prices, as well as not properly investing into the parks.
@AliciaStella
I’m hoping that we still eventually get that Avengers E-Ticket. As for the land itself, it looks nice, and that stunt animatronic looks really cool. However, I wish we had at least gotten an animatronic for the WEB SLINGERS preshow.
@PKSparkxx
@Bitnerd_
Pokémon isn’t really a great example, as those are clearly just the games being released far before they are ready, as well as Game Freak’s lack of experience developing HD games. TOTK is far more ambitious than those, yet it runs and looks far better.
@CartridgeGames
Both Microsoft and Sony would benefit from having smaller games alongside their larger games. They’ve done a bit of this, but contracting smaller studios to work on those, like Nintendo does, could help fill in their release schedule between big releases.
@MehdiYahia2410
@aarongreenberg
Sony and Nintendo have both shown in the past that you can do a lot with around an hour, or even less than an hour in Nintendo’s case.
The Princess and the Frog underperformed so hard that it made Disney quit releasing theatrical hand-drawn animated films. As someone who enjoys The Princess and the Frog as a film, people really need to quit spreading the rumor that it’s popular, because it’s not.
@chazfinder
It could be that people love a princess from a movie that came out 15 years ago and is readily available, rather than a movie that no one has seen in 40 years.
@EpcotEnthusiast
This Small World thing feels like it was heavily pushed onto OLC by Disney, especially since it’s clearly phase 4 MCU, rather than the actual good films. Like, why use Falcon Captain America instead of Steve Rogers? Also, why no Spider-Man? Either way, glad this is temporary.
Walt Disney Imagineering is currently in talks with Nuro, an autonomous vehicle company, to see how they can incorporate their vehicles in carrying items purchased by guests at the Disney Parks and delivering them to their hotels.

@ScottGustin
Try Everything being here is pretty lame. Like, there are a ton of great Disney songs, and they go with one of the weakest that’s just a generic pop song.
Also from film that resulted in the first African American actor to ever win an Oscar, one who gave both a fantastic live and vocal performance in Song of the South. While the live action portion of the film isn’t great, James Baskett’s performance as Uncle Remus certainly is.
It’s sad to see the comments defend mediocrity. There are things about TBA that look great: the outdoor facade at night and the animatronics. However, this backlash to slight criticism shows a lack of faith in this retheme, as they hate the idea that Splash may have been better.
The Walt Disney Company, which has traditional American values in its DNA thanks to Walt Disney’s love of America, should not be run by people who clearly hate America. Removing Liberty Square would be another example of Iger demonstrating how much he loathes the values of Walt.
My understanding is that, in addition to Frontierland and Tom Sawyer Island, Disney recently documented Liberty Square, as well.
Liberty Square was not included in the announcement of the removal of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, yet it could be a part of the
Bob Iger is the worst CEO Disney has ever had. He continues to prove that he hates the Disney brand and only wants to push his own IP. Getting rid of Splash is proof of the former, and forcing a Marvel attraction at TDL, where Marvel isn’t that popular, is proof of the latter.
@disneyglimpses
Ratatouille is an example of good IP use imo. The film itself is a celebration of French cuisine, with it very obviously taking place in Paris. They also did not replace anything to put it there. Frozen in Norway is a much better example of forcing IP where it doesn't fit.
@Really_Bad_Egg
@BrerOswald
I’m not a huge dinosaur guy, but I think Disney getting rid of the dinosaur theme is dumb. Animal Kingdom needs more capacity. While this retheme will be an improvement, why spend all that money retheming DINOSAUR when it could be spent on new attractions.
