I also think it's ridiculous to paint Disney as the victim that was "pressured" into doing this when it was started by an incredibly niche petition (from a Disneyland Cast Member of all people) that had less signatures than the average number of park visitors on a slow day. They've also never listened to a petition before (or since). They wanted to do this for a while and took advantage of the situation.

It was a fictional "dilemma". Nobody was connecting Brer Rabbit to the death of George Floyd. It was disgusting that they tried to use such an event to shoehorn in more Iger-era IP into the parks. They made the brash move announcing it as early as they did because they knew it was the only time they could "get away with it".
