I took a look at what a hypothetical WTA ‘Next Gen’ event might look like…. I think it’d be more interesting than the ATP edition!. Thoughts?.
As the ATP's Next Gen Finals wrap up the season next month, showcasing the sport's brightest young talents, one glaring absence remains on the calendar: a Next Gen tournament for the women. @ToddScoullar lists nine potential candidates. #TheFirstServe.

Does Danielle Collins 🇺🇸 not realise she's playing an Australian in Australia?. What does she expect the crowd to do? They're going to support the home player. Get over it. Zero class from Collins tonight. #AO2025.

Still amazes me some tennis ‘fans’ don’t think reaching #11 in the world is a success. These people have zero idea. Zero.

@Carl_Lewis Athletics needs athletes who want to be visible. It's not a 'mainstream' sport, so whether you like Lyles or not, if people are talking about him, they're talking about athletics. It's a good thing.

If you’ve been to #Wimbledon, what’s your favourite moment you’ve seen live?. For me, it was being on Centre Court when @andy_murray came back to beat Gasquet in a classic 5-setter.

People have definitely latched on to Joao Fonseca 🇧🇷.Standing room only on court 7. They’ll need to schedule him on bigger courts if he gets through. #AO2025

@AFL Give it a rest. A narrative driven by media, when overwhelmingly, the fans have constantly voted against it.

I was lucky to be the only person watching and filming Emma #Raducanu’s first practice session since rolling her ankle. Here’s a little bit of the beginning. If you want me to post clips from the whole session later on, follow me or retweet. 🎾👍 #AO2023 #AustralianOpen #WTA

@DylanAlcott I missed where ScoMo said disabled children weren’t a blessing. People criticise pollies for what they say, then what they don’t say.Nothing about his comment was offensive. It is a blessing to have healthy children.Every parent who has children on NDIS would prefer they weren’t.

@FOXFOOTY If he’s letting Ginnivan get under his skin that much, he probably needs a spell from coaching.

@josemorgado I know in slow motion it looks very obvious, but at top speed, that’s not an easy decision to call. Umpire made a call, it was wrong. The problem is with the rules regarding reviews.

@GernezDan I'd be curious to see if she asks the US Open crowd to be more generous to her opponents later in the year.

Whatever you think of Novak #Djokovic 🇷🇸, he always stands up for what he believes in, where others may not. There’s a good tennis book from Brad Gilbert…‘I’ve Got Your Back’ . I reckon if you’ve got Novak in your corner, he’d have your back. 👍.

For those Emma Raducanu fans, I can confirm she hit the court today. Was scheduled for an hour practice, but only spent half an hour on court. Barely moved or put weight on her ankle, but seemed happy enough with her progress. #raducanu #AO2023 #AustralianOpen

#Raducanu fans… she appears to be moving a lot better today! These videos were sent to me by @milltannie, and taken by Patrick Lee (sorry Patrick, don’t know your handle). Great signs. Swelling and pain must’ve improved tenfold since Monday. #AO2023 #AusOpen @RaducanuNews

@AFL Complete joke. Free kick. Hit him with his bicep, and not even a swinging arm. Dees need to appeal this.

Stefanos Tsitsipas 🇬🇷was very downbeat in his press conference. "It just sucks in a way that I'll be hanging around, for quite a while now before my next tournament comes in. With my competitive nature, I feel like these type of things are not really ideal for me.". #AO2025.

Reasons Emma #Raducanu made the right decision withdrawing from the mixed at #Wimbledon:. - singles is priority.- her wrists are priority.- returning serves against men won’t do her wrists any good.- no point risking the season .- she can do whatever she thinks is best for her

#Kyrgios 🇦🇺 hinting that retirement is very close. "Yeah, I mean, realistically I can't really see myself probably playing singles again here.". "Yeah, it's just not enjoyable for me.".

@WeAreTennis Ditch the exhibitions, wrap things up by October, and have a 2-3 week break mid year. But none of that will ever happen.

@WeAreTennis 100% agree. This season feels too long already. Once the US Open is done, there’s not much to get excited about.

@josemorgado So happy for Keys! This has been coming for a long time. Her peak is better than anyone. Just doesn’t hit her peak for 7 matches in a row…until now.

@collettesnowden @janeenorman Obviously you’re one of those sad people never seeing the positive in anything. $70 million is massive, no matter who you are, or what you have. Also, how many people earning $100k would’ve given $800 anyway? Not a whole lot I’m guessing.

Didn’t see the match, but that’s another great result for Raducanu. To grind out three hours, after two hours yesterday, should be huge for her confidence. Not to mention beating 2 top 50 players from a set down. 👏👏👏.#BillieJeanKingCup.#GreatBritain

Impressive result for Raducanu. She’s more than capable on any surface. Barring more injuries (which can never be guaranteed), I do think we’ll see her back in the second week of Slams regularly.
What. A. Performance ✨. From a set and a break down, @EmmaRaducanu rallies back to defeat Caroline Garcia 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and level the tie for Great Britain! 🇬🇧. #BJKCup | @the_LTA

What is means to qualify for your second straight #AusOpen….26 year old, Dutch world number 237, Arianne Hartono moves into only the second main draw of a major in her career (lost in 3 sets to Anisimova last year). #AO2023 @KNLTB #Netherlands

Interesting to see the comments around this. #Raducanu is paying her coach. If she wants to ask questions around her training/tactics, etc, she has every right. A quality coach should be able to clearly explain their reasons around coaching philosophies and techniques. #WTA.
Emma Raducanu says her "provoking" and "challenging" questions could explain why she has had a high turnover of coaches. #BBCTennis

@burt_sarah Meanwhile, we don’t say a word about the competing countries who treat women like garbage every day of their life. But a lazy remark from a commentator (albeit not very professional at all), brings out so much hatred. Priorities people.

If Emma #Raducanu 🇬🇧 can go on and win the Seoul event, she will move into the top 40. Only 2 other players currently in the top 100 have moved up more ranking places this year:. Naomi Osaka 🇯🇵 (who basically had no ranking).Amanda Anisimova 🇺🇸.
