The next phase of growth in Indian aviation: "Beyond turboprop below 180" 🙏
@JM_Scindia
Hearty congratulations to
@OfficialStarAir
as it receives the first of its 4x

E175 aircraft.
Many thanks to
@nac_dk
and
@SarinAndCo
for being the thrust. In thrust we trust.
"South of India" is not South India.
South 'of' India = Sri Lanka, arguably Maldives, arguably Indonesia.
South India = Andhra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telengana, and the UTs of Andaman, Lakshadweep, Pondi.
Who writes copy for the airline?
I understand the emotion, but disagree basis fact.
1. We must be grateful to the military for many such airfields in India. Without the military infra we would not have had any aero infra in certain places.
2. A civilian aircraft could have also blocked the runway.
Pain of civil operations from a military airport:
Leh Airport shut for the day with disabled IAF C-17 globemaster blocking runway. ✈️ being diverted to Srinagar & Chandigarh

Has anyone counted the number of aircraft squatting on prime real estate at airports?
If we cannot dispose off / reposition aircraft, how do we expect to resolve bankruptcies?
Dive into the poetic allure of sun-kissed shores, where beaches meet the Arabian Sea's tender kiss. In India's west, a paradise of bliss unfolds with tropical vibes and vibrant sunsets. Can you unravel the mystery? 🏝️🌅

While airlines talk about data, big data,and bigger data, they are unable to:
-Take a non-Indian phone number.
-Reach a customer booked with a non-Indian number.
Staff tell me, "Sir, you've provided a foreign number? We couldn't reach you."
What a mockery of ability.
In the interest of a healthy debate, and noting Arjun's tweet was well intended:
1. It takes a company many, many decades to perfect the art of efficient airplanes. The example of a mega-Japanese company failing a regional aircraft program is prime example.
It takes about one month to complete the final assembly of an
#A320
Family aircraft.
It can take a human a decade of dedication and hard work to become a good pilot.
Your greatest asset is not the airplane, but the people that make it fly.
The queen VT-EVA , Boeing 747-400, new Reg N940AS leaving BOM-PAE.
Lot of efforts many meetings. Many people working behind the scene to make this happen .Thank you all.
Sad to hear about
@anuragkotoky

We were supposed to have met earlier this month at Singapore.
He cancelled our meeting last minute citing health.
May his soul rest in peace.
Om Shanti. 🙏

2023 is coming to an end, possibly the year I have flown the most. Over 59 flights thus far. Flight log no. 2 for 2023 is in the process of being prepared.

Not had a

This one is from Friday at london City

with their unique set up, with a marshaller bringing the aircraft in, and then passing off to the corner marshaller for the turn and park.
Foreign brands delight.
Airlines partnering with non-Indian brands (eg - in flight amenities) elicit a great response from the population.
What confuses me most is the dual personality of those around me: "make in India" + "vocal for local" vs the desire for "foren" brands?
Places like Mysuru are accessible to the 150 seat category Embraer jets, but unfeasible for the 180 seat narrowbodies.
Open up more of India easily.
Go Embraer.
Peak hour at Mysuru airport at 2 ATR-72 arrive within 10 mins form Hyderabad!
Good to see these smaller airports getting on the aviation radar and hope they are sustainable!

A letter by the Federation of Indian Pilots lists 8 airlines that "suspended operations overnight".
Of the 8 airlines, one is very much operational. The names of atleast 2 airlines to have shut is missed.
Terrible attention to detail. Erodes credibility.
12 years ago I married my girlfriend of over a decade (at that time) who was also (and still is) the girl of my dreams. We didnt want anything religious so we got married under the Special Marriage Act and created our own ceremony where both sides said a few words in a field of
The Embraer E2 have ADSB-in. And show traffic details.
Waiting for the day when the pilot community realise there is gold in cockpits beyond Boring and Ailbus.
No wonder A350 drivers don't bother asking ATC for type of traffic!
#TIL
Does the A320 Traffic Selector (optional equipment) also let pilots view type of aircraft in the vicinity?
How the mighty

Pilots have fallen.
AI’s management has effectively destroyed the Pilots Union in one straight move - a dream even multiple governments, ministers or past CMDs couldn’t achieve for decades.

I'm always in awe of
@ShrenikGhodawat
's sharp and concise replies. While most people say network planning involves flying to cities with a certain population size, he touches importantly on a population size willing to pay. That's key.
Do watch!
On a BOM-BLR, an elderly lady beside me: "Oh no, deplaning from the rear? I don't like busses, I like aerobridges".
I helped her with her luggage and that was the last I saw of her.
I took the aft exit. Apron bus got me straight to the baggage belt.
She was miles behind.
T2 is so overdesigned
It’s a peak example of flashy shit that wastes public money, conceptualised on autocad by car drivers with no sense of human scale
I had to walk almost 2km to get from plane to the exit
They literally have a golf cart INSIDE the terminal to move people
There is no point in IT, Data and bigger data when with existing data, your airline cannot:
- Put bags on belt in time
- Put priority bags on belt, first.
This man is organized chaos, and I mean it in a good way. The flexibility of chaos, the direction of organised.
And how he's touched the lives of people around him. Grateful.🙏

On the 15th of July 2008, I went out for dinner with my family in what was a confused celebration (in my head) as it was the evening I had got my license to practice as a lawyer. It was confusing for me because it seemed to be an end of a journey from various roles as a student

This rake was manufactured in September 2022 and still feels new inside. If you haven't experienced it already, you must. The experience is truly world class.

2. I was part of that airline. Crew trained to greet everyone in the corp office.
3. "Just a vlogger": We are far from the days of dignity of labor.
Respectfully.
So, just saw a video of an alleged paid aviation vlogger. He enters the classroom where flight attendants were present and they all stand for him. I mean WTF man..he is just a vlogger.
Do not underestimate the power of a grand brand reveal.
Vistara's busses were delivered all white and later painted in livery.
So, nothing new.
@RonitBaugh
I agree people are the greatest asset in all of this, and that the tweet smoothly veers from pilots to "those who make it fly" including the designers and engineers.
But to reduce decades (with an "s") to 2 months is undue credit.
Booking seats to travel last minute has its drawbacks. Not only do I not have a window seat for my
@airvistara

I could have booked 1A on
The simple answer is, an aircraft needs a beacon OR strobe system.
While the white wing strobes may not have been turned on, the read beacon had been blinking, and that is legal.

For all the effort one airline took to explain its widebody order, the questions were the silliest and a waste of opportunity and everyone's time.
We are 2.8 decades behind the largest aviation market.
