I was raised Catholic and we definitely had a word "non-Catholic" I live in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood and they definitely have a word "goy" The difference being we/they don't use it to your face or expect YOU to refer to yourself that way.

I have a friend who is an EMT in PA and in certain circumstances they need police backup to go into dangerous settings. They always hate it when the smallish woman shows up to "protect" them. I'm a woman and I think woman can do almost anything a man can do, but not everything.

I have a less serious problem. I am a widow and have no children. My friends who are still alive do not live nearby. I cannot get a colonoscopy because I have no one to drive me home. Uber won't do, medical transportation won't do. It has to be a PERSON.

As a rape victim (many years ago) I know this is true. Not only could I not be around men without fear, I could not be around women of the same race as my attacker. Sadly this extended to the nicest woman in the world who worked with me. Got over it, but I needed time to heal.

My husband died 4/14/2020. Not from Covid, but the hospitals in NJ were in lock down. He was taken by ambulance on Easter morning 4/12/20. I was told on the 13th that I could see him for one hour and could not come back again. 3 years ago today, the last time I saw him.
