UW Lotus Field is probably one of the strongest decks in Pioneer but is hindered by its complexity/difficulty. A single misplay or mistake in sequencing lands can be an instant loss.
In case you need a narrow answer to a Standard decks that spams half a dozen cheap permanents by turn 2. More previews at

Brainworms wouldn't let me sleep without trying to put Tamiyo and Urza's Saga together in a deck, so I stayed up until 2:00am but 5-0ed first try with Dimir Saga! Deck was super fun to play and felt great. MTGO made this deck image hard to parse so there's a link in alt
Modern Challenge top 8 with Twiddle! Went undefeated in Swiss then got a little unfortunate in quarterfinals. This deck feels favored into most of the top decks right now like Jeskai, Nadu, and Energy. Look out for some live gameplay later this week!
Been trying not to engage on here very much but thought I'd share the Twiddle Storm list I just used to win the Sunday night Modern challenge (which happened to be the Mill gauntlet for some reason???). I will likely post a sideboard guide soon if people are interested
Another challenge with Dimir Fraga, 5-2 losing twice to Goryo's even though it feels like a good matchup (also conceded the last round bc my breakers were garbage and they were live for top 8)
Finally got a 5-0 🏆 with Rona. I feel like I'm actually approaching a list that I like.
Keep in mind that Aetherflux Reservoir is only necessary on MTGO, you can just win with The Stone Brain in paper.
Also I still have no idea how to build a Pioneer mana base 🤷♂️
Scrubbed out of an RCQ today, but it was worth it for the hilarious moment when my round 1 Amulet Titan opponent played a Boros Garrison with Amulets out and tried to shortcut asking "Do you know how Amulet Titan works?"
8-2 so far with a Karn package in Sultai Rona. 4 mana is a lot but having a wincon that doesn't need nonblue mana is nice. Having something to do after a Stone Brain on Rona felt great (Traxos as a backup Rona was very relevant). Still needs work.
Tagging
@TandyMTG
for value.
Another challenge top 8 with Twiddle, played very poorly in game 3 of quarterfinals but so be it. Despite my play I love this 75, Brotherhood's End continues to impress. Probably gonna do a sideboard guide soon? idk wouldn't be the first time I've said that
Lost in quarters of the Modern Challenge after going undefeated in Swiss, deck still feels super underrated
R1: LWW Yawgmoth
R2: WLW Scam
R3: WW Izzet Murktide
R4: WLW Ponza
R5: LWW Dimir Coffers
R6: WW Tron
R7: WW Izzet Murktide
R8: LWW Temur Rhinos
1st seed in top 8
QF: LL Scam
Got another 5-0 🏆 with Twiddle, this time playing Expedition Maps and no green sources. Mana felt so much better, even get to play 4 Deserted Temples. Gonna try to stream this through a challenge tomorrow
2nd in the late night Modern Challenge with Scapeshift! Though at this point anything with a good Scam matchup can top 8 a challenge
Lost to the goat
@claudiohmtg
in the finals, made some mistakes but that's what happens at 4:00am
Another top 8 with Twiddle, won 5 matches then lost 3 matches to Nadu. Matchup doesn't even feel that terrible tbh but I should be respecting it more with sideboard cards. Lorien came up once but still is probably just be better as the 4th fetch land
10-0 so far in leagues with this Amulet Titan list. Haven't cast a Phyrexian Metamorph yet, but I'm pretty confident with the other 73. Will likely try to throw together a sideboard guide soon, if I'm not as lazy as usual
Played a Friday Night Modern Challenge for the first time in a couple months (ignore all my Super Q results this week), and top 8ed with Twiddle Storm! This deck is a blast, will likely play it at SCG Cinci next week
Sideboard guide written, under the "primer" tab on my Moxfield decklist (linked below). While writing it I decided it would probably be more useful to explain *how* I sideboard rather than just the ins and outs, so I left some notes at the top.

Since I've been asked, here's my current Amulet Titan list with a sideboard guide (under the "Primer" tab). Obviously the list will continue to change but it's at least a start.
Might as well post matchups and updated decklist:

6-2 in the Modern challenge (not even top 16 on breakers lol), I like the list a lot. Likely the 74 or 75 I'll play at SCG Pitt (unless I can get my hands on Spelunking in time). Can't be too upset when my losses are to
@ExpeditionMap
and
@DebevoiseDrew
So to recap, we have
@Wheresurhouseki
and
@DevotedDruid
at 9-0 and 8-1 at the Legacy Championship, and
@Not_Cicero
and
@Way2Tilted
won their first RCQs today.
Friendly reminder that NoVA grinders are simply the best out there and I will be taking no objections
Lost in semis of the
@gncpairodice
77-player RCQ with Azorius Spirits. Jegantha was mostly there as a joke but I did manage to cast it once, so who really won?
Achievement unlocked: Got the turn 2 kill with Twiddle Breach!
Turn 1 blue source, turn 2 Lotus, twiddle, Consign the trigger, twiddle, Breach, twiddle, Wish, twiddle, Tome Scour, start the loop. Had exactly enough cards in graveyard + mana 😎
Lost in quarters of the Friday night Modern challenge with Amulet Titan, 5-0 into 5-3. Wanted to try out sideboard Elesh Norns, didn't board them in once. Got turn 1 Grief'ed 6/9 games against Evoke (and once more by Living End), can we please get rid of this card already
🏆
#2
Fae of Wishes felt great, probably better than Karn. Not sure if the entire Wish package is necessary, might just wanna play real sideboard cards.
Dig Through Time felt even better.
Still can't build a mana base btw.
Played in an RCQ lost playing for the invite and got 0 prizes but still had to play Pioneer all day 🤮 at least I got this cool pic from top 8 with
@Not_Cicero
and
@makememesnotwar
Had a pretty miserable time at SCG Pitt this weekend (for more reasons than one). Imposter syndrome never hit harder.
Gonna try to take a break from mtg for a while (ideally a long one, but knowing myself it'll be hard to break my weekend mtgo challenge addiction).
I'm still working on optimizing Scapeshift and finding a configuration I like, but here's a rough sideboard guide for those interested. If you're looking for a deck to beat up on all the beans running around, check it out!
Decided to make the trip to Dallas and bring 0 Magic cards. I intend to hang with friends, get drunk, play Jackbox, and play 0 games of Magic. I think I broke the meta
Got a 5-0 🏆 with Twiddle Breach! This deck got a bunch of great upgrades from MH3. Gonna try to work on this deck some more live on Twitch at some point this weekend / next week, if all goes well might try to set up a regular MTGO streaming schedule
If I had a nickel for every Modern challenge that crashes after I top 8...
2nd top 8 of the day with Twiddle Breach! This is definitely a real deck, seems to have an excellent energy matchup. Hopefully MTGO gives me top 4 prizing
Ended “day 1” of RC Atlanta at 6-4 with Lotus Combo. Day started great, started to drop the ball later in the day. Not too disappointed considering how unconfident and underprepared I felt, but at least it’s over now. Might finally relax for the first time in months

10th on breakers in the Modern challenge (after being first seed 3-2 and 4-2 😢) using
@acabvictorr
's RCQ-winning list. Didn't play well but deck is busted why did it take me so long to play it
👏 We've locked in the Top 8 players for the
#MTG
$5k RCQ - Modern event! They are now facing off to see who earns the qualification for the Regional Championship at DreamHack in Dallas. Best of luck in the final rounds! 🎲
#SCGPHILLY
Mythic Event Token expired today, and I am *still* unable to rent The One Ring on
@Mana_Traders
, so no more Amulet Titan (at least not an up-to-date list) in the near future...
Guess I'll be grinding Pioneer until ManaTraders offers the service they advertise
@Xenowan
@fireshoes
I’m gonna need you to stop doing so well with Ruby Storm right now. I’m starting to catch collateral storm hate and I don’t appreciate it
5-0 with Scapeshift (right after scrubbing out of the Super Qualifier with Amulet Titan). Feels super strong into most of the popular decks right now (except Tron)
After a thorough discussion about the Pioneer metagame with
@Not_Cicero
@TingInTheRice
@Wheresurhouseki
, we have come to the conclusion that Niv to Light is the equivalent of pornography and I will not elaborate on this analogy.
Was dragged kicking and screaming to an RCQ by

Solid weekend overall @ Scg Pitt,
11th in the Modern 5k on Friday and 4th in the 10k losing to

List is below the deck feels very well positioned and I’d recommend it.

Second time losing in semis of a 2-slot RCQ on my first time playing a format. Finally got around to playing Standard, with Picnic Ruiner. Like the deck but felt like the list could be improved. Thanks
@makememesnotwar
for the deck and
@Not_Cicero
for spending the day with me
Ran this through the Friday night challenge to a frustrating 5-2 bookended by Living End losses. Easily could’ve won round 7 but got cocky and complacent.

Come check out Games & Comics Pair o Dice in Fairfax! Amazing community, consistent high-quality events, high average player skill. Easily my favorite LGS
So excited to be attending
#SCGBALTIMORE
2024 as a special guest! I will be there all 3 days and playing the main event. Please say hi! I’ll be handing out purrson counter tokens. :)
Many thanks to
@SCGCON
@StarCityGames
for the opportunity!
@RobinIsabellaX
I was actually just about to write a guide for another friend, it’s the non-Strict Proctor build and I don’t really have results with the deck so take it with a grain of salt but I’ll send it your way when it’s done
Looking to acquire about 22 copies of the Secret Lair Prize Card sleeve (they usually come with the foil promo for winning an RCQ). If anyone has any for sale please dm me!

5 minutes into our Uber ride to the hotel and
@Way2Tilted
has already explained the reserved list and double sleeping to prevent curling to our driver
Lost in semi finals of the MTGO Legacy Showcase! Opponents deck was absolutely sick and I am happy that he ended up with the dub. Always cool to see interesting decks do well! Deck was cool. Would change one or two things but overall SUPER impressed.
@fireshoes
@BomattCourier
I’ve literally never used 8. 6 or 0 if you don’t care about pretending to have interaction, otherwise just use 1 (ok) to manually pass
Mtgo is a two-handed video game for me
@Not_Cicero
Successfully ran mtgo on the Dreamhack free play computers. I don’t have a problem I can stop at any time (also pictured in the background, it turns out there’s a RC happening here too)
@occupationalhzd
@fireshoes
Why the fuck did you @ me now I have 12 notifications and I don't even care about this format
But as long as I'm here, sideboard guide?
