We've got a Labour government who've said austerity was a choice for 14 years - I wonder if any of their 400+ MPs will speak up when they renege of their pledges.
It would be difficult for the Government to claim things are worse than they expected and then renege on their manifesto pledges to the public.

1/ 🚜 New planning applications have been made for progress on Labour's 3,000 new houses at Rake Lane, including huge signs and sales cabins. Last month, I asked if these applications could be scrutinised by the planning committee so I could raise concerns from residents.

Could this road closure mark the end of these many months of disruption and money wasting? All for a roundabout that no one wanted?
Labour are planning more of these across the borough - one councillor even suggested every roundabout should be one.
❗ From Monday 4 July 2022, Rake Lane / Billy Mill Lane roundabout will be closed for four nights for road resurfacing between 7pm and 6am. Diversions will be signposted.

It’s not a gimmick for people in North Shields having to live with dangerous motorbike riders. Perhaps at the next election we can get a PCC who will help us tackle ASB - rather than use it as a photo op for a mayoral campaign 🤞
