In recent months, our services across the region have unfortunately been impacted by the well documented national bus driver shortage.
This has escalated within the last few weeks, resulting in serious challenges on the delivery of our timetabled services.

1/2 From the 12th March, we are launching Tap on - Tap Off
Simply tap on the driver’s ticket machine when boarding the bus, then tap again as you get off.
Following the exact fare policy onboard our buses and with the help of our customers, we’ve been able to gift over £260,000 to the NHS Charities Togethers. We’re delighted to have gifted so much to help improve services for patients and help NHS staff and volunteers.
The industrial action planned to commence on Sunday 21st April will no longer go ahead and bus services will be running as scheduled. We know this will be a relief to customers.

As part of the development of Durham City, the bus station is now closed for redevelopment. All services will now use Millburngate and North Road. Staff will be on hand to help with your journey, but take a look at the new stands to find out where your bus will now be stopping.

St Marys Place Road is closed due to emergency water main repairs. Service 308/X7/X8 will divert via Barras Bridge and Central Motorway. This is causing delays of 30 mins to an hour during peak hours. Some cancellations are inevitable.

Service 5/5A will not serve Eldon Lane after 6pm every evening until further notice due to multiple incidents of anti-social behaviour. We continue to work with our TravelSafe partners and local authorities to resume normal service as soon as it is safe to do so.
