Educating Police on the law on behaviour around cyclists, one cop at a time! Police, are educating drivers, less than one at a time,with an odd naughty letter
COURT RESULT - This dash cam footage shows a serious injury RTC from December last year. The driver of this HGV didn’t notice stationary traffic and collided into it. Driver has been sentenced at Court and handed a suspended prison sentence, disqualification and must retake test.
O Dear
@NYorksPolice
How can you accept your wages whilst being utterly useless at your job?
No Further Action!
Why bother turning up for work, if you won't actually work for a living!!

@syptweet
Is this one close enough to prosecute?
The wing mirror did hit my elbow, but I am only a member of the public, so unsure if to meets your standard for non police cyclist prosecutions. If it does, it will be a first.
@theJeremyVine
It might come as a bit of a shock to some self employed people if they are paid out only based on what they declare for tax purposes. Suddenly they'll be thinking "they" are being ripped off.
@fascinatorfun
@GOVUK
No, they don't want you to take it seriously, they have always planned to expose the population to live virus. Trivialising the "rules" is the point, take the risk, and the government can blame the public.
Just editing a video of an absolute cunt tailgating me, I get a bit on this stretch of road as there's a shared path next to the road. He turned off, and across the path that I don't think is safe! I didn't notice this at the time.
I can now start uploading the videos of drivers who got more than a warning letter, as their 6 months since their offences expire.
First up this one who received a conditional offer with 3 options:
Diversionary Course
3 points and a fine
Go to court to claim they gave 1.5 meters
Dear
@syptweet
I know this is clearly Dangerous Driving, but do you have any officers that are prepared to enforce the law? You know, the thing you pay them to do!
What the actual fuck was this dash cam review officer thinking? Just a waring letter!
I does make you question if there's any relationship with the offending driver.
This result came as a shock, as even without the blind bend this would normally be a conditional offer.

The driver was asking for it, a grey car on a grey road, next time it might be a bus. When will vulnerable drivers put HiViz on their cars. Why aren't the Police demanding HiViz on cars and helmets inside them!
Why is it that driving vigilantes who take the law into their own hands by bullying cyclists, think cyclists who don't take the law into their own hands, but simply hand evidence to the police, think it's the cyclists who are the vigilantes?Are they confused or just plain stupid?
LG62WGC
The driver of LG62WGC was given 3 options:
Pay for a driving course
Pay a fine & take 3 points on their licence
Go to court and try to prove they gave 1.5 metres clearance.
The driver accepted guilt & took one of the first two options.
Just because a cyclist doesn't have a camera, it doesn't mean you'll avoid police attention if you close pass them! Police can't be everywhere, but there's an increasing chance that someone with a camera will be there.

Not only report, but email the company complaining about the driver and ask (subject access request under GDPR) for footage their vehicle's cameras may have captured of you.

Lazy policing. This should have been direct to court!

From 2nd August 2022 finally in court.
Maybe if you took phone use by drivers more seriously this wouldn't have happened. Shame on her, shame on you too 🤬
@xinit0
HGV drivers cameras regularly did, until the drivers complained about privacy. I'd like to see the statistics on the likelihood of crashes pre and post cab cameras.

How about thinking a little? Put the phone down, and recognise how they helped you not to pass on a blind bend into oncomming traffic! Cyclists are advised to claim the lane for their safety, and in this case, yours too.
"Then cyclists appear from nowhere" This isn't a magic show, just someone driving too fast for the distance they can see. It could just as easily have been a pedestrian, or a branch from a tree without lights. But, the cyclist didn't have a light, so driving too fast is excused.
Awesome, I had an argument with a driver who close passed me, I told him he'd be paying for a course, he said he wasn't, and I again said he was.
Just got the result, he's paying for a course 🤣
Give it 6 months and I'll be laughing again when I post the video
The world had gone mad in an arms race of parents trying to justify massive vehicles by the time I had my third child, so I decided there were no off the shelf options that ensured our safety...

How could you allow PC2280 Rachel Smethurst to ignore Dangerous Driving?
There is more than enough evidence to ban this driver, but she chose words of advice to the company the driver has left!
Why won't she enforce the law?
Do you back her behaviour?

Rather than pass when safe, this driver waited until is wasn't safe to pass, and received a police warning.

I reported a very close pass by the driver of this car on the 17th of Feb. The car is still untaxed and still being driven as, I saw it three times today.
Did you bother to speak to the registered keeper??
@GymInMotion
@CyclingMikey
Upload the dash cam footage including 3mins before catching them and 3mins after. Just want to be sure you aren't making it up, and that you can actually drive safely, as you appear to be struggling with the basics! Thanks in advance.
Anybody care to guess at the result achieved by

I have just asked the investigating officer, PC76 Devey to update me. It happened on the 17th of Feb, so clearly finalised. Not really sure why I haven't been given the result yet.

Looks like one for the cops too, the best you can do is sack the driver, when the driver really needs to stop driving altogether.

This driver has received a conditional offer i.e. points and a fine, or reject the offer and go to court to claim they didn't drive on the wrong side of two traffic islands and then go through a red traffic light, whilst the court considers the video evidence of the two offences.

Caught up with a driver who close passed me, I told him he'd be paying for a driving course, he said he didn't care, I explained that this conversation was also evidence I'd be giving to the police. Still nothing, no apology. I will point out to the police there was no remorse

Guy at work just got a call from his Mrs, a council vehicle followed her to work, when she stopped she was given a £100 fine for throwing a sweet wrapper out of her car window.
This motorcyclist is about to receive a conditional offer
A course at his cost, or 3 points and a fine, or a visit to court to claim this was not less than 1.5 meters clearance.
If you can't spot a white car coming towards you at 5mph, and struggle finding the brake pedal, it really is time to think about handing in you licence.
Being a fair weather cyclist, I hardly ride in the rain, mainly because I don't like getting wet, but I also feel I get more close passes. Seems like drivers take more risks it the wet. Just me??
