@Srirachachau The alpha male accounts can’t seem to decide if beer is great or if it is evil and a sign of a weak man. (Hint: if this was Tim Walz, beer would be bad).

“unelected bureaucrats”
@donaldbryson The Constitutional framers never intended for the executive branch to have unchecked power. The legislative branch is finally taking power away from unelected bureaucrats. I can’t think of anything more democratic than that!.

MASSIVE UPDATE IN WAKE COUNTY: THE RACE FOR SUPREME COURT HAS FLIPPED. Allison Riggs gains 5,105 votes. Jefferson Griffin gains 2,223 votes. That means Riggs nets 2,882 votes, enough to give her a lead of 129 votes statewide. #ncpol.
Wake County just canvassed. Supplemental absentees (mostly those received Nov 5) went 3,196 Riggs, 1,258 Griffin. Provisionals Riggs 1,942, Griffin 977. #ncpol image has some canvass info. Upload to #ncsbe shortly

@LinkofSunshine The court went from a 4-3 Democratic majority in 2020 to a 6-1 Republican majority in 2025. Democrats have lost every single statewide judicial race over the last four years; it’s kinda crazy.

@numfuksteinstan @smomwetgobam It’s actually shocking how much of Trump’s base does not take him seriously. I can’t think of anyone else in American political history who has this kind of effect.

Saturday 1:15 PM. Since that bomb from Wake, several more counties finalized their vote totals last night. This narrowed the race further: Allison Riggs leads Jefferson Griffin by an incredible 24 votes in one of the closest elections this state has ever seen. #ncpol

@StatisticUrban Dems should nominate a twenty-something fresh out of law school that can serve for 80 years.

After a few hours of research, I have found the answer to this question!. The longest winning streak for a political party in one statewide office belongs to the Republicans for winning every single election for North Dakota State Auditor since 1894.
So this tweet inspired a question for me: what is the longest current streak of one party winning elections for a statewide office?. Got to be a tie between N.C. Attorney General and N.C. Secretary of State: Democrats have won every election for those offices since 1900. #ncpol.

@BurntToast50 If Chuck wanted to control everything, he should have *actually* locked Cal Cunningham in a basement without a phone so he couldn't cheat on his wife or reveal that he doesn't know what barbecue is.

@kampeas @ethanclynne @Redistrict I remember 3006. The Zorp Party swept all of the precincts on Mars. President Donald Trump XLV was very unpopular at the time.

@StatisticUrban It’s worth noting that Democrats contested almost every seat while republicans left a ton uncontested (7 senate seats and 27 house seats). It’s likely that the popular vote number is a lot closer if the GOP ran more candidates. But, not enough to be close to a supermajority.

@gilmxres I once read a post that said that Lane was what Rory would have ended up like if she hadn’t had all of the opportunities afforded to her by her grandparents.

@AdamRackis If Firefox has a million users, I’m one of them. If Firefox has one user, then I’m THAT ONE. If Firefox has no users, that means I’m dead. If the world is against Firefox, I’m against the entire world. Till my last breath, I’ll use Firefox.

If you ever wondered why the GOP inserted a bunch of nonsense into the “relief” bill, it’s so they could use this messaging.

JUST IN: Had been requesting this over past week. Per North Carolina State Board of Elections, there were 15,176 outstanding mail-in ballots in the state, as of Saturday. #ncpol #Election2024

The BIGGEST surprise tonight?. State Superintendent Catherine Truitt, first elected in 2020, has been defeated by activist Michele Morrow in the GOP primary 52-48 tonight. Morrow, who homeschools her kids, unsuccessfully ran for the Wake County school board in 2022. #ncpol

@kenthecowboy_ And then you have the whole subcategory of people who think it’s a good idea to be hauling their kids around in a 1993 Honda Civic that would crumple instantly in an accident when they could easily afford a used 2022 model with airbags.

"She doesn't have a clue." said former Auditor Beth Wood of the woman appointed to replace her, Jessica Holmes. In a shocking move, Wood, a Democrat, has endorsed Dave Boliek, the GOP nominee for auditor. #ncpol (1/4).

@numfuksteinstan I think that in the scenario in which Texas goes blue, the very next year the Republicans in the state legislature will pass some law to award the state’s electoral votes to whichever candidate wins the most counties or some BS, effectively ending democracy in the state.

@tf2godz @ettingermentum Yeah no one notices that MS is only like R+11. But I don’t see any Dem winning. GA has a sizable college-educated suburban white pop that MS doesn’t. There aren’t any ATL suburbs to swing in MS.

This got me thinking. Cooper is the end of a line. None of the Democratic governors in the last 60 years have come from the big cities that are now the centers of power in the party. Stein's background is very different than that of Cooper, Perdue, Easley, Hunt, or Bob Scott.
@NCPolitics2020 @styt101 Roy Cooper was first elected in the 1980s as an agrarian populist. When he finally leaves the scene, the southern Democratic tradition will go with him.

Part of what’s so interesting about this is that Sydney Batch had a very interesting way of moving up through the ranks. In 2018, she was elected to the NC House, beating an incumbent and flipping a district in southern Wake County by just 2 points…. 🧵(1/x) #ncpol.

@tex_238 Bush won Indiana by 20.7 points in 2004, so TX/FL/AK are all too close. In actuality, 2024’s version of this would be Harris winning Utah or Nebraska (statewide) and getting close in Tennessee.

@StatisticUrban It's actually a really funny scenario that challenging an electoral result became toxic among dems. Hart probably could've gotten a recount if this was 2018.

It’s not every day that the governor’s Twitter account calls out one of this state’s senators. Just a reminder: Tillis is up for re-election in 2026. Cooper will leave office in January 2025, freeing him up for… whatever he wants to do. #ncpol.
Last week @ThomTillis voted against helping veterans exposed to toxic chemicals. This week when he had the chance to stop companies from charging hundreds of dollars a month for insulin when it costs around $10 to make, he votes to let them keep doing it. He needs a values check.
