I love Britain. I have a US passport. I could own a spacious house for a fraction of the price, and earn 4x as much as I do now if I up and left for the US without changing my career path or upskilling. I want to change things in the UK but Britain utterly stifles aspiration.
Stuck wages and rising prices, especially around housing, are hitting our quality of life and many aspects of moving abroad have never been easier. Whether you chase the big $ of America, the better wages and weather of Australia, or work remotely from a cheaper base is up to you

Top tip for people here on visas - supporting a terrorist group and encouraging terrorism are crimes. If you break the law your visa can be revoked.

Our birthrate is 1.49 but women want on avg 2.3 children - above the replacement rate of 2.1. We don’t need to accept ever declining birthrates for the 21st century but government must do more to make it easier for Brits to start the families they clearly want to have.

This is bad behaviour from canvassers. Plenty of people don't want to talk to campaigners and that's ok! Accosting people who are uninterested in speaking to you makes them less likely to vote for you or your candidate.
Nice line in The Sun: candidates are complaining that doorbell cameras have made doorknocking impossible because voters pretend that they’re not in if they spot a political leaflet. One canvasser has started carrying a parcel so people think they’ve got mail.

Not opposed to this development having a high price point. Building beautiful new builds makes NIMBYs more amenable to new developments in general and will hopefully help drive up aesthetic standards for developers going forwards.
Holbourne Park is a new development in Bath. The masonry looks really good and those small terraced houses are perfect for young families. (Although they’re not as they cost £900,000)
