Strength comes from unity - a thread of hope and appreciation.
I was recently at a
@nickellis_music
gig and he shared some beautiful words along the lines of 'the answers to this terrible world are in our communities', and, after this week, I couldn't agree more. I'm an 1/11
@JoeOwensMe
The culture of this city is built on centuries of immigration- Liverpool doesn't need a BNP reject representing it in any way, shape or form!
I feel like I've got my head on backwards living in this country. Marching for peace is a hate protest, being homeless is criminalised, wanting kids to be fed & educated properly is looked down on. A bloody sick nation!
Anyone else confused by those who think it's outrageous that a person doesn't know how to curtsey, rather than the fact that anyone should be obliged to do so to another human?
#AbolishTheMonarchy
I'm just wondering what the reaction would be if I sang songs mocking those who died at the Manchester Arena, or at Grenfell, or 9/11, or 7/7, or Aberfan or any other disaster where innocent people died? Why is Hillsborough treated differently? Why do some excuse or ignore thus?
Anyone else got a persistent sick feeling in the pit of their stomach at the thought of what is happening in Gaza? I don't have the words to describe it, but what I do know is that those leaders not calling for a ceasefire are most definitely complicit in the deaths of innocents.
@Morecambebob1
Not only did you do something so very kind for that woman, that action will live long in the memory of your trainee. I imagine they will never think twice about taking similar action in future as a result of the example you've set. You're a wonderful human.
Can anyone recommend any articles on the best tents for street sleeping please? I'm about to make a significant lifestyle choice and want to make sure I'm properly kitted out.
@EARNER1
@Mark_Profound
I didn't give a crap about them before and this makes no difference. They have perfectly encapsulated the absurdity of elitism in this act - people are queuing to pay respect to someone they deem to be more worthy by accident of birth. It's all ridiculous.
The invocation of Thatcher tells those of us on the left (if you weren't already aware)- all we need to know about 'Starmer's Labour Party'. It's not for you, you are not welcome nor wanted.
@MartinSLewis
I fail to see why any money from providing water services should end up in private hands. It's critical infrastructure, nobody should make a profit!
My dad is a Hillsborough survivor & a STH in the Kop. Every time opposition fans chant these vile things he has to listen to disgusting accusations that he was responsible for the deaths of his fellow fans. I'm fucking sick of it - it's about time clubs & the media called it out.
@stuartdolan
@KellyCates
How many years were they presented only by men? Have you given thought to the fact that male sports have dominated for so long it is inevitable women are knowledgeable on it, men have yet to take a real interest in women's sports so aren't equipped to present or offer punditry?
@MavenOfMayhem
For transparency, I'm cis, het, able bodied, and white. I am completely baffled by the concept of 'trans away the gay' - it appears to be recycled homophobia. Am I wrong?
@ZackPolanski
@TheGreenParty
Sadly it looks as though the campaign against Jo during the GE will be thoroughly dirty from Labour. Glad to see she has strong support from her party.
Polite request, if you're going to highlight accounts that post pictures of the Hillsborough disaster (especially those showing people being crushed & dying) please don't share those pics. There are a lot of people on here who are family members of those who died, & survivors.
@Colin_Dolan
has been found (for the 2nd time) and is now being cared for. Thank you to all who have shared and supported through this very difficult situation 💜
The night before last, I had to attend
@LivHospitals
A&E due to a nosebleed that wouldn't stop. Once there, they found v high BP then it swiftly escalated with me passing out. The care I received was 2nd to none, & every single person was kind&attentive. 1/2
@essexlive
"I was trying new foods as well as new challenges, so it was a win-win" - what an awful article giving no insight whatsoever as to what those relying on food banks are facing.
@ruskin147
Looks like you're making great progress, thank you for sharing your story with us all - it's so heart warming, to see you and the prof caring for her with such care & patience.
We have MPs being suspended from their party, or being sacked from parliamentary roles all for the the awful action of calling for peace. We're a sick nation.
@DanWuori
So pleased you saw the many tags you got for this yesterday. As a Scouser, it really made me smile &adding your perspective is the icing on the cake! Just a couple of notes, this is a baby girl & the 'mother' is a friend of her mum - looks like she's learning abt community too :)
@speakoutsister
It's very bizarre, as a 41 year old I am encouraged by so many younger women not being indoctrinated into being defined by their reproductive 'roles' and standing up for all women.
Anyone saying that disgusting behaviour in Kirkby tonight wasn't locals is deluded. Scousers are not innocent of racism or far right sentiment. Don't be so bloody naive or complacent.
@joey4416
@PhilipProudfoot
The events of the last week don't indicate a true democracy. New PM voted in by 81K people, and a new HoS as a result of a hereditary monarchy.
@notCursedE
As if there aren't a multitude of obnoxious, insufferable cis hets being given huge platforms by the MSM!
Oh, and Dylan is neither of those things.
@LukeTheNuke180
From a Liverpool fan, and daughter of a Hillsborough survivor, I think the backlash you've had has been pretty harsh but really appreciate the heartfelt apology.
Update on
@Colin_Dolan
- I can't tell you how much love & respect I have for this man. I truly hope he makes the decision to come home but I am mentally exhausted & need to focus on me today. I do want to make it clear that I will never give up on him, I'm just resting for now 💜
Fascinating how certain people jump to action to protect women and children when the perpetrator is from a minority. Almost as if protecting women and children is not their primary motivation 🤔
Bras being flogged by grannies, stained glass bird ornaments, lava dragon eggs - Twitter adverts are starting to remind me of being dragged round the Heritage market of a Sunday. Just waiting for the man who flogs meat selections and we've got the full collection 😆
@travisc76
@clairewillett
Just to be clear, you are telling a gay woman that she should be thankful for platitudes, when many people in her community are fearful for their safety?
@topfotogmw
@robpowellnews
@JuliaHB1
It's also not unrealistic to say we had weeks to prepare for this and should have switched means of production at a much earlier stage.
I can't put into words how much I admire
@charlhennessy1
dealing with these people with such class and dignity. She personifies the attitude of the whole justice campaign
#JFT97
So
@charlhennessy1
, whose father was one of the 97 people unlawfully killed at Hillsborough, tried to educate one young man about the disaster;
He wasn’t born in 1989, showing that the original toxic South Yorkshire police lies are passed down generations.
@jeffpalmer1978
@henrywinter
Being bothered by people booing a song that asks a fictional skyfairy to save an over-privileged individual - more weird 🤷♀️
@jessejanderson
Thank you for replying, I've always done OK education and working but felt I wasn't achieving to my potential and have executive dysfunction amongst other things. I relate to so much of what you post so will keep on listening and learning.
@Michael94617501
@JoeOwensMe
Small waves? You really don't know the history do you? Boycotting that rag is not a 'left' issue, it's a decency one seeing how it treated the people of this city. I couldn't care less about the Labour Party.
I nipped out to the supermarket at around 3pm yesterday , when I got home
@Colin_Dolan
had left the house. This is the last message I received at 20.08, I don't know what to do as he's left of his own free will & I doubt the police will be interested at this stage
@Paul1Singh
She's absolutely spot on - Rory voted for policies that have contributed to the increase in poverty, your criticisms need to be redirected!
You think you've heard everything about Hillsborough then come across something you missed that is completely disgusting. Diane is a real inspiration dealing with such abhorrent behaviour after surviving a terrible tragedy & now provides incredible support to other survivors 🙌
The woman in this article is me, took me a long time to tell anyone as didn't think anyone would believe me over the police.
22 years old, vulnerable post Hillsborough, head all over the place.
Now I'm older, stronger and know I did nothing wrong......he did
@LouCalvey
You're one of the best Lou - always offer thoughtful, compassionate, and intelligent insight into our asylum system. I could listen to you all day!
@ruskin147
Animals can be so funny, we have a bunny who, as a prey animal, should be terrified of fireworks, but he never has been. When he was spritely enough, he used to hop up onto a chair in the yard to try and get a better view 😄
@Channel4News
@PGMcNamara
I keep hearing that Corbyn is irrelevant and yet he still gets hounded by 'journalists' - isn't there more important things/people you lot should be addressing?
@stehoare
I had tears in my eyes listening to the Villa fans joining in with
#YNWA
at the end (although I think they may need to brush up on some of the words) - the love for LFC was overwhelming!
