Catholic. I think the convertibility of the Transcendentals is both very cool and eminently true.

@5Solas2 Jesus would always clarify when those He was preaching to mistakenly took him literally, but he did not do that in John 6. In fact He doubled down on the literal language, using even more graphic language and proceeded to let them leave without any correction.

@FaithWithMase For my Protestant brothers and sisters, Ludwig Ott is not the best starting place for understanding Catholic teaching. He does not speak for the Magisterium. If you want to know what the Church teaches, read what she herself says, as she gives the basics that Ott builds on.

@ChrisTesar @redeemed_zoomer @realchloenicole A basic study of history can show this did not happen. Constantine was an Arian heretic, and we know he pushed that Arianism be officially taught by the Church, but Arianism was condemned, clearly demonstrating that Constantine did not in fact corrupt the Church.

@abbythelibb_ That is limiting prayer to a very narrow view. If you mean prayer as an act of latria, we agree, but mere request and conversation, no. Jesus certainly asked things of his mother and conversed with her. And we know that those in heaven are not dead (Matt 22, Luke 20).
